Just a bit stuck in a rut, especially this year. Looking for ideas.

Herby Chicken breast, crispy garlic kale and mashed potato

Pizza , salad and coleslaw

Meatballs and spaghetti with garlic bread

Sausages, potatoes dauphinois and green veg

Veggie chilli, rice, salsa, cheese and avocado

We are clearing the freezer before Christmas so hence the rather meat heavy dinners this week Confused

Iamblossom · 06/12/2020 17:27

I don't really meal plan as such but I tend to buy the same things and have them on rotation :

Tonight kids are having mac and cheese with bacon, DH and I are having omelettes
This week will probably be:
Chicken pie and veg with a baked potato
Spag bol
Pork chop with veg and gravy
Sausages and mash or toad in the hole
Stir fry
Pizza on weekend

Other standards include meatballs with spag
Gammon ham steaks with a fried egg and chips, maybe with peas
Shepherds pie
Beans on toast
Scrambled eggs with a salad
Baked potatoes with chosen filling
Salmon fillets with green veg and a baked potato
Chicken Kiev with green beans or peas and mash
Fishcakes

Bluntness100 · 06/12/2020 17:27

We don’t have a plan, there’s sausages, bacon, chicken Kiev, mince, and fish cakes in the fridge snd loads in the freezer. We will just eat what we fancy on any given night,

Chicken fajitas also very popular here, usually buy a kit in weekly shop

DH often makes a curry or a big fish pie at the weekend which we have as leftovers during the week

I hate meal planning, cooking dinner and shopping for ingredients so I completely feel your pain OP! I did try hello fresh for a bit when they did an offer, it as good but lots of packaging and expensive for what it was when not on offer. I kept the recipe cards though and use them, might be worth doing for a few weeks, shake things up a bit?

anyoldname76 · 06/12/2020 17:33

Monday is burgers, corn on the cob and salad

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/12/2020 17:37

We've got ds here, which makes it more difficult than fending for just the two of us.

Today - veggie sausages, sweet potato mash, sprouts, carrots, balsamic & red wine glazed onions

Tomorrow - veggie carbonara

We do Gousto, we stopped after they messed up a delivery but we do like it, but children won't eat it so it's a pain as I have to cook twice right severely limit what we can eat.

Actually, a hint from me, for meal planning is to get a family calendar if you can, with one column more than you need. Use that to put in what you're having for meals. It makes it a lot easier to see what you've had recently, what you've not had in a while, and to recall what everyone liked and what some of them were utter snits about. . .

TheSqueakyWheel · 06/12/2020 18:07

I don't really meal plan but meals that regularly appear on the menu are...

Pesto pork schnitzel. I usually serve with spaghetti in some pasta sauce, usually roast red pepper and roast vegetables or with dauphinoise potatoes/cauliflower cheese and green veg,

Chinese chicken curry.(Mayflower brand mix from Home Bargains) with rice and prawn crackers.

Spicy beans and sausages or bbq beans and sausages.

Lasagna with salad

Soup and pudding.

Meatballs and pasta with garlic bread

Chicken, chorizo and feta salad

Fish and chips with green veg.

Macaroni cheese

Fajitas

Enchiladas

M&S sweet chilli Chinese chicken with stir fried veg and noodles

Creamy pesto chicken pasta

Chicken salad wraps

Creamy cajun chicken pasta

Africa2go · 06/12/2020 18:07
