Holothane · 12/12/2020 20:46

Trailing1 you have sympathy nothing worse than a cold, especially a head cold.

Nydj · 12/12/2020 20:47

@Holothane, I’m so sorry you are having a particularly bad day. I hope you get s9me rest, feel better soon and get the op that you have been waiting for xx

halfpasteleven · 12/12/2020 21:09

Hope you both feel better soon,
I too have had a hair cut today. It took double the time as they were running late when I got there. They were so apologetic - I didn't have anywhere else to be so I actually didn't mind. The owner gave me a voucher before I left for a complimentary wash, blow dry and treatment. Really wasn't expecting it.

Holothane · 12/12/2020 21:23

I will be having a rolls Royce to be driven in the day of my hysterectomy I tell everyone they fall about laughing I laugh with them but no joke I’ll celebrating that day I can tell, you I don’t drink so if there’s time I’ll save for it. Friday I’ll know whether it will eventually be a hysterectomy, he better have a good excuse why not though I’ve had enough.

SilkiesnowchicksandXmastreecat · 12/12/2020 21:56

Hope you both feel better soon.

I'm just having a glass of cider.

DD went out for the day with a friend and is now changed and in a hello kitty top, mini skirt and cat ears and she says she looks amazing. She also had the Christmas tree lights shining on her in a disco effect which I thought was part of the look at first.

Having spag bol with extra cherry tomatoes and onion for tea. DH got the rope to add to the tarp for chicken lockdown which starts on Monday.

Frownette · 12/12/2020 21:56

I've finally got peace and quiet - he's gone to bed so I can make a snack and cup of tea, bliss

Frownette · 12/12/2020 21:58

@SilkiesnowchicksandXmastreecat even the chickens get lockdowns?! Outrageous!

Loveyourideas · 12/12/2020 22:00

I had a haircut today. After three months. I feel lighter

MissConductUS · 12/12/2020 22:02

@Holothane - I'm sorry this is causing you so much discomfort. Have they given you a reason why they might not do the surgery?

We have way too many cookies in this house.

Oh the surgeon who fitted the coil under ga said that would cure my pains my bleeding after a few months 11 months on as today has been I’m in agony at least two or three days a week I’m not accepting excuses this time, different hospital different hopefully sympathetic surgeon.

EggNogPegg · 13/12/2020 08:14

EggyCat1 decided to keep on top of me all night. She's not even discouraged by me turning onto my side. I woke up this morning with her on my chest and EggyCat2 on my legs. I'm now sat at the dining table and she has perched on my shoulder. I feel that I need one of my old baby slings for her today as she's exceptionally needy.

@Spudlet
He looks very dapper

@SilkiesnowchicksandXmastreecat
To be fair, her outfit does sound amazing.

EggNogPegg · 13/12/2020 08:15

*Sleep on top of me.
Also, I forgot to attach the photo

Frownette · 13/12/2020 08:19

I was quite grateful to you @MissConductUS for mentioning cookies, made me remember I have some peanut cookies in.

@Holothane :( hope they listen to you now.

I went for a walk at 6am looking completely bedraggled in the rain and bumped into someone I know. I was channelling the drowned rat look.

soddingkitten · 13/12/2020 08:35

I’m glad that DH, DS and I went for a long walk round the neighbourhood yesterday evening because we’re back to non-stop rain here again today. Everything is waterlogged and the nearby river is full and running fast.

Frownette · 13/12/2020 08:50

Yeah it's awful, isn't it?! I was wearing a raincoat but the hood kept coming down over my face so I pushed it back in the end. Squelchy boots.

I found some leftover macaroni cheese in the freezer and my eyes went like saucers. I have to go out soon to pick up a parcel so that will be tea

SilkiesnowchicksandXmastreecat · 13/12/2020 08:53

That's so cute with the cats EggNog I was just reading about your cats being needy when ours started howling, she is sad, she is awake but preferred servant DH isn't.

I had two slices of cheesecake last night. I suggested to DD that she add tinsel to her outfit to make it more amazing and she tried it on and agreed.

I ordered DD's paint for her room she wanted - she initially asked for rose gold which looked very gold and metallic to me so I checked did she want that and she agreed she didn't and I showed her rose pink and she said that was exactly what she wanted. Then I tried to track down rose pink paint, had to check around 10 stores to find one with some in and added the white paint, paint brushes, rollers, and gorilla glue she also says she needs. She said DH had said she needed to wait for inbetween Christmas and NY for him to buy it and could I buy it now as she couldn't wait that long so I did.

soddingkitten · 13/12/2020 10:17

I’m eating a late breakfast. My menfolk are catching up on Discovery in the living room. Sodding has been bouncing off the walls all morning due to the foul weather but has now ventured out, thank God. I’m waiting for his soggy return and half an hour’s complaining about the rain.

Bacciferous · 13/12/2020 10:25

I'm going to be on my own for about 2 hours today, a very rare event

4amWitchingHour · 13/12/2020 11:00

I just FaceTimed my mum and dad, and now feeding DS (4 months).

Later I'll go for a walk to the co-op to get dairy free tree chocolates and mince pies Smile

MissConductUS · 13/12/2020 11:22

Welcome @Bacciferous and @4amWitchingHour and thanks for sharing your mundane news, it's perfect for the thread. Smile

I'm just back from my run and cooling off for a bit before I get in the shower, so on very early today.

Egg, my Dcat Daisy loves to ride on my shoulder, like I'm a pirate and she's a parrot. I love the highlights in your hair.

@Holothane - I doubt it's a question of the surgeon's sympathy, I think it has more to do with the lack of availability of surgical capacity. Lots of non-urgent procedures are being postponed to free up beds and nursing staff for covid care, and many staff are out sick or quarantining.

One last thing before I head off to clean up, I just listened to the most charming interview with a retired couple from Essex who got the Pfizer vaccine very early. They sound like such a lovely couple. I hope it will encourage more people to get the vaccine when it's available to them.

UK Couple Becomes One Of The First Pfizer Vaccine Recipients

This is the transcript but you can play the audio as well (see the blue bar at the top where it says "3 Minute Listen").

I am sitting here dunking my cookies into melted chocolate and lining them up to dry. Whenever I take my eyes of them they get fewer.

EggNogPegg · 13/12/2020 11:37

@MissConductUS I always feel like a pirate too. Thank you for the hair compliment. The colour is all my own. I keep meaning to book an appointment to have it highlighted.

Dragged DS1 to rugby this morning. He bleated and moaned the whole way there, declaring it was too cold, too wet and too muddy. Within 10 minutes of being on the pitch, he'd stripped off his jacket, was covered in mud and having the best time. We are now home, he's showered and he and DS2 are wrestling. I anticipate three minutes until DS2 is crying or DS1 is cross.

SilkiesnowchicksandXmastreecat · 13/12/2020 11:45
