Inspired by my dinner tonight.. Made a pasta bake. Love them but have them once in a blue moon because its just me so I'm eating it for 3 days after 😂

Fish - cos there’s only me who likes it. Really wish my daughter would share my love of fish so we could enjoy it together!

RedTawny · 27/11/2020 19:46

One of my favourite meals is a pasta one with a homemade pepper sauce. No meat which my dh doesn't like so dc and I have ot if hes not in for dinner which is usually once every month or two

Why cant you make pasta bake for one?

I love cheesecakes but dont make them often as I'll just get fat

AdoptedBumpkin · 27/11/2020 19:47

Chinese! Only eaten as the occasional takeaway.

Chips from the chippy. Had some tonight for the first time since February and they were delicious!

DrDreReturns · 27/11/2020 19:48

Pate, can't do the accent. I love it but it's sooo unhealthy, I only have it once in a while.

gingercat02 · 27/11/2020 19:50

Lasagne gorgeous but a proper ball ache to make

Pebbledashery · 27/11/2020 19:53

@gingercat02 oh god I love lasagne but yes definitely a performance to make.

Pork pie. Cornish pasty. Steak pie.

Delicious but stupidly calorific.

formerbabe · 27/11/2020 19:57

Lamb chops....so expensive for a small amount of meat

User56770987 · 27/11/2020 19:58

Macaroni cheese because I'm the only one who'll eat it.
Smoked salmon because it keeps it special
Sushi because nice stuff is expensive and it's not that easy to buy near where i live.

formerbabe · 27/11/2020 19:58

Agree lasagne is a right faff

formerbabe · 27/11/2020 20:00

Fajitas with all the extras because you need so many ingredients, avocado, coriander, salsa, sour cream, etc and I rarely have them all in.

NeedWineNow · 27/11/2020 20:01

This food. Haven't had it in an age.

JustSay · 27/11/2020 20:01

Cheesecakes, baklava, basbousa, moussaka, mac n cheese, noodles stirfry, risotto, quiche, cauliflower cheese, mashed with sunday roast. Because i am the only one who likes them!

SuperFairy · 27/11/2020 20:01

I love steak but rarely have it at home as DH isn’t keen, I’ll nearly always order it if it’s on a restaurant menu, with a jacket potato and soured cream.

catlovingdoctor · 27/11/2020 20:01

Steak

LuckyAmy1986 · 27/11/2020 20:02

Came on to say pate as well!

Torvi · 27/11/2020 20:02

Moules mariniere. I only eat it in a restaurant. Tier 3 so won't be doing much of that for a while!

MoodieMare · 27/11/2020 20:03

Mushrooms because DD doesn't like them so I've omitted them from things over the years, though I love them.
Smoked salmon, because it's expensive as I can't justify it, but watch me go when it's reduced close to date.
Christmas pasties from local bakery, they're probably full of fat, and pasties/pastry stuff gives me horrendous heartburn. Sometimes it's worth it though Grin

MummytoCSJH · 27/11/2020 20:06

Thai food! There used to be an amazing Thai takeaway in my town. They closed it down to become a restaurant in the bigger city nearby. I go occasionally (well not recently!) but now they're too far away from me to deliver :(

ipredictacarrot · 27/11/2020 20:08

Haggis

DryRoastPeanut · 27/11/2020 20:08

Mashed potatoes. Probably my most favourite way to eat spuds, but as a diabetic I have to limit my intake of carbs.

That’s not to say I never have them, but tiny portions very occasionally now rather than trying to eat my own body weight in mash ever week.

Pebbledashery · 27/11/2020 20:12

Another one for smoked salmon... On cream cheese bagels.. Can't justify buying smoked salmon every week. Its a Christmas starter treat!

Fig rolls . Only because I scoff the whole packet

Oreservoir · 27/11/2020 20:17

@MoodieMare. There is a very simple river cottage recipe for mushroom pâté. It’s so nice and would last you a few days.
