Inspired by my dinner tonight.. Made a pasta bake. Love them but have them once in a blue moon because its just me so I'm eating it for 3 days after 😂

Bread. DP doesn't eat it and there's no point buying it just for me.

PronkWine · 27/11/2020 20:19

Oysters 🦪

Holothane · 27/11/2020 20:19

Prawns, crayfish.

As others have said. a steak.
Mine needs to be fillet, rare, with no tastebud-distracting sauces (the thought of anything like peppercorn sauce puts me right off - why buy a decent steak in the first place?), accompanied by chunky chips and fried onions (or onion rings if I can be bothered). Quick and delicious! And it very much satisfies the carnivore in me.

Kedgeree love it but hate the smell of the fish and it's a bit fiddly for me

Pebbledashery · 27/11/2020 20:40

@mineofuselessinformation basically.. Flesh and chips 😂

Any kind of curry, chili or other 'spicy' food. Rest of the family won't eat it.

AgeLikeWine · 27/11/2020 20:43

Pork pie. The proper stuff from Melton Mowbray. I absolutely love it, but it’s so ridiculously unhealthy that I only allow myself to buy it at Christmas.

nitgel · 27/11/2020 20:44

Wimpy and chips

LindaEllen · 27/11/2020 20:45

Pasta bake for me, too. DP really doesn't like pasta, so I have to wait for the (very) rare occasion he's had to take his lunch late at work, so he's not hungry at dinner time, then me and DSS get our beloved pasta bake.

Although last time it happened I didn't have any cheese in the fridge :(. I have learned from my mistakes, and it will never happen again! Keep myself fully stocked now!

rslsys · 27/11/2020 20:46

Willy Weston's Garlic Prawn Pate (Norfolk delicacy) not eaten too often because
A:) Contains Garlic, Garlic & more Garlic
B:) He doesn't make it very often

Svelteinmydreams · 27/11/2020 20:52

Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.
There’s only 2 of us plus dogs, so we end up overeating on the Yorkshire’s, and giving prime roast beef to my Labradors ( who are grateful, but would eat anything )

bluechameleon · 27/11/2020 21:08

Steak and kidney pie. I absolutely love it but I never learnt to make it and none of the rest of the family would like it. So I only end up having it once every year or two when I go to my parents' without DH. I should just ask my mum for her recipe and make it for myself.

QuestionableMouse · 27/11/2020 21:12

A proper roast dinner. I love it occasionally but there's only me here and it's just not worth the washing up for one person.

Pebbledashery · 27/11/2020 21:14

@LindaEllen cannot understand anyone who doesn't like pasta. My cupboards are full of it 😊

OP posts:
Pebbledashery · 27/11/2020 21:14

@QuestionableMouse me too. I love a chicken roast. Definitely too many dishes for one.

Easter eggs. I truly love that thin chocolate.

PurpleBirch · 27/11/2020 21:16

Proper scotch eggs
Potted shrimps

EssentialHummus · 27/11/2020 21:18

Mac and cheese, ideally an orange American Kraft style one. It’s a total calorie bomb but good god it tastes good. With chorizo fried in for added heart attack.

BackforGood · 27/11/2020 21:23

Egg and chips.

Just something I only "need" once in a blue moon, but how scrummy is it as a meal, when you get the urge. Smile

I love sprouts and eat them every week!
DontCryForMeNextdoorNeighbour · 27/11/2020 21:36

Pad Thai
Thai green curry
Lasagna

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 27/11/2020 21:39

Fish. DP hates it. I do often order it out, or if he is out/away I always get the M&S Gastropub fish, chips, and mushy peas for myself. Steak is the reverse for us, I don’t like it but DP would get that out.

Hawkins001 · 27/11/2020 21:39

Lambs meat balls, and it's not the balls people my presume, the best way to describe them are very juicy with various fats, but it's like minced lamb meat rolled up into balls, they are beautiful but very greasy and after a couple, it's one of those for another week ect. These are from the local butcher shop in town.
