Oh I hear ya, I have no idea!!

HedgieHog · 21/11/2020 09:44

For what? Supermarkets?

whitetilesmurf · 21/11/2020 09:46

With Tesco, you really need to have a delivery saver pass. Those slots were available on 13th. There was very little when the rest came out yesterday.

FrazzledFTM · 21/11/2020 09:48

If you're not isolating and just don't want to go into the supermarket, click and collect at Tesco seems to have more available slots than delivery. It's what I use and have managed to get 1 per week so far.

SavoyCabbage · 21/11/2020 09:48

For now or for Christmas?

I've been getting them for my mum for Sainsbury's by having the page open on the computer and refreshing it every time I remember. Countless times until I get one, It helps that she can have absolutely any time as she's not going anywhere.

Stopitwiththefireworks · 21/11/2020 09:50

Slots for Chris specifically, or in general?

I’m a Tesco pass holder and not had any problems getting slots, although I book them several weeks in advance, as they are released.

Stopitwiththefireworks · 21/11/2020 09:51

Christmas not Chris

AlwaysLatte · 21/11/2020 09:51

Another vote for the Tesco delivery pass. I've managed to book the next 6 weeks up to the 23rd December.

Stopitwiththefireworks · 21/11/2020 09:52

For Christmas slot I was online waiting in a queue at 7am on 13th (Or whenever it was) when Tesco Christmas slots were released

sherrystrull · 21/11/2020 09:53

What worked for me with Tesco.
They are released at midnight. If you log on at 11.51 they put you in a queue and you'll be front of the queue when they release them at midnight.
If you log on at 11.49 they haven't opened the queue yet.
Good luck!

Mol1628 · 21/11/2020 09:55

Tesco delivery saver. I have all mine booked every week till Christmas now.

reluctantbrit · 21/11/2020 10:48

It is a nightmare. We normally don't do online shopping but I am tested positive so are self isolating since Tuesday.

I checked all supermarkets and managed to get a 6am slot for today. with Waitrose, the only one available for 4 supermarkets. Then I made a mistake and the booked slot for next Wednesday is now gone. Managed to get a Tesco slot.

I thought there would be more available, with lots of people now ordering.

So glad when I am out of isolation and happy to go back to shop in person again.

PoptartPoptart · 21/11/2020 11:08

Being a Tesco delivery saver customer doesn’t necessarily guarantee you a slot.
I’m a Tesco delivery saver customer so I was able to log on to book a Christmas slot a week earlier. I was in the virtual queue at 6.30am (they were releasing slots from 7am) and I was in the queue for 2 and a half hours and I still couldn’t get a slot!

PoptartPoptart · 21/11/2020 11:10

And it seems supermarket delivery slots are as elusive as the bloody PlayStation 5.
If anyone knows how I might be able to get my hands on one before Christmas then I’d be most grateful! (NOT paying £700+ that some unscrupulous sellers are demanding on eBay Angry)

Tararararara · 21/11/2020 11:18

It must be where I live, but I've not had an issue getting slots. And I don't book them at stupid o clock in the morning when they come online either.

My Christmas slot is on 22nd which is perfect for us as it allows time to go to the local shop for anything not available or not delivered with the online order.

We've shopped online for the last 10years so it's not just lockdown for us. I was slightly annoyed when our delivery pass wasn't renewed in May when it ran out but I can understand why (I wasn't expecting to be able to book preferential slots or in advance or anything, that wasn't allowed since March).

TotalBitch · 21/11/2020 11:22

I've just cancelled my Tesco delivery pass thing, as I was lucky if I could get a delivery slot per month, so it wasn't value for money. They were great about cancelling it tbf and I'm very lucky that I can get out. It just takes a bit of planning. I've given up, basically!

Tbh, even when I had delivery slots, the stuff we eat a lot of frequently wasn't available. So, better to go in person really.

Calcifer12 · 21/11/2020 11:46

My local Tesco has loads between 15-19 December

RustyBear · 21/11/2020 11:52

No point in recommending a Tesco delivery pass at the moment, as new ones aren't available right now.
I don't have one, so had to wait till yesterday to book a Christmas slot - they became available at 7am, I was in the queue at 6.50 and got in about 7.40; the latest available slots were on the 21st - though that was click & collect, not delivery.

I've been managing to get regular c&c Monday slots every week for the past couple of months, I had a couple of deliveries but they are much harder to find for a convenient time.

MashedSweetSpud · 21/11/2020 11:55

I don’t have a pass but yesterday managed to get a slot on the 21st. The 22nd onwards slots were fully booked.

lucysmam · 21/11/2020 12:12

How have those of you with Tesco slots booked for every week up to Christmas managed that? I can only book 2 then there's no option to book more & I end up trying to lug a shop home or stretching out what we have til the next one.

Maybe I should use the laptop browser?

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 21/11/2020 12:15

Yesterday I managed to get a Christmas slot (reminded by a Mn post!). There was quite a few to choose from.
13th - slots released to subscribers
20th - slots released to everyone else

RustyBear · 21/11/2020 12:23

I now have Tesco slots booked for every Monday until Christmas. Usually there are slots available for 3 weeks including the current week on a rolling basis, but after the Christmas slots opened yesterday, the week before also appeared, so there are now 5 weeks showing.

Though it was lucky I opened this thread, as it reminded me to book for the 14th December, which I did, but that week is now full. So thank you OP!

If you have subscribed to the Delivery Saver Plan slots are available 4 weeks ahead. If you don't subscribe it's only 2 weeks.
lucysmam · 21/11/2020 12:46

I do subscribe to the delivery saver 🤷‍♀️ I'll have a look using the laptop.

H1978 · 21/11/2020 12:57

Not a delivery pass holder either but managed to get the only Tesco slot available on 23rd but delivery is between 10pm-11pm. I’m just glad I got one and can avoid the shops.
