What time is the meeting?

I saw this somewhere else. I've just asked my partner....I'm horrified --slightly dramatic- at his response!

What time do you think the meeting is?

It’s complex. I see time moving and stretching away from me (in same direction as I am facing and moving - as if I am on a path of time which itself is moving into the future) so forward would always be 2.00.

If it’s Sunday 1st and someone says -
‘On Saturday’ = 7th

‘This Saturday’ = 7th

‘Saturday coming’ = 7th

‘Next Saturday’ = probably 14th but i would need to check this. Confusing. If this were said on eg Wednesday 4th I would be surer of 14th.

‘How about next week on Saturday’ = as above would need to check their meaning.

‘Saturday after next’ = would assume 14th but would check to be sure - they might mean 21st !

‘How about Saturday the 14th?’ = thank god, certainty.

Is it to do with the word 'bring' or 'push'?

I'd say bring the meeting forward or push it back. So bring it closer and push it away.....
