Is it just me or is Alison Hammond awful at presenting?

Hi,

So generally I don't have much of an opinion on Alison either way, but from what I've seen she's a good/unique interviewer and I can understand why she's likeable, but she really can't present. She's on This Morning again now and it's embarrassing tbh!

TM have a habit of using terrible stand ins, but I think AH is on another level. Surely there are better, professional presenters out there?..

Rochelle and Marvin are the only decent stand ins on the show I think

You can see that Phillip Scofield looks on edge and is trying way too hard to keep the show together.

Is it just me? I'm sure I saw a thread on here a few weeks ago saying how wonderful AH was on the show, so maybe it is 🤔

Yes, I don't get the AH love. She seems like a lovely person, but really chaotic in front of the camera. I'd not seen her on much, but then saw several people raving about her interview with Ryan Reynolds and Harrison Ford, about how hilarious it was. So I checked it out on YouTube and found it really cringy - she was completely unprepared, they looked uncomfortable and it just came across as very unprofessional. But it seems I'm in a minority cos apparently she's hilarious! (I reiterate, she seems like a nice person, and harmless. But not good at her job at all).

I agree. She’s good for comedic value for short pieces, but definitely not for presenting the whole show.

Agree. I like Alison she is very funny, but I have had to switch channels as it's making me cringe.

@JeremyIronsBenFolds, I think she is good at her job - interviewing, although her technique is a little bit love or hate - but she's not a presenter, so I'm not sure why she's presenting.

I agree and yet shes bagged a Friday slot....already know i wont be watching.

Why bloody Dermot too. He’s so overexposed as it is. There must be SO MANY new presenters looking for work that why do they recycle the same ones again and again

I find her too chaotic, and really irritating.

I haven't seen her present, but a few years back Johnny Vegas stood in for one of the Sunday Brunch presenters. Now THAT was chaos.

Not Dermot too! He's ok on his own on very specific shows...where he can do lots of pointing.... and spinning....so basically X Factor, but I've seen him with AH on TM before and it was a terrible partnership! So awkward!

Honestly, what are the producers on TM thinking?

As @ShirleyPhallus said, there will be so many presenters waiting in the wings for a gig like that and ones who could do a much MUCH better job.

She's awful. Can't watch her. But I can't watch Schofield and Holly, either.

Dreadful programme, bearable with Eamonn and Ruth occasionally.

The whole show is dire. Philip is awful.

I could take all the "babes" (although annoying) and her loud personality, but what genuinely pisses me off is the fact that she can't even read the autocue! She's always getting names wrong and clearly doesn't have a clue what it is she's actually reading and has this terrible disjointed and insincere tone.

@DillonPanthersTexas, That reminded me of Greg Wallace on those inside the factory programmes. Lots of "Woah! Ang on a minute... (adjusts glasses) So it goes in there like that (scratches head) and comes out there like that?! 🤯"

I just wondered as she is an agent apparently, isn't she Rochelles agent?

I think this show has gone steadily down hill for some while now TBH! Richard and Judy were so good together back in the day! Ruth and Eammon are good as well .No idea why they have been dropped .Think the ratings will plunge some how!

She’s probably a lovely person but she’s a terrible presenter. I won’t be watching on Fridays. How is she going to cope with serious and sensitive subjects?

Dermot is equally as dreadful, but I would imagine AH has only been added as a presenter as part of ITVs diversification.
