Realised today that DCs and I haven't seen a dentist since Summer 2019! Shock Were meant to go in March but didn't happen!
When did you last go?

OP posts:
FrankiesKnuckle · 17/11/2020 23:32

Late 90s for me I think.

Yes, really.

TMIincoming · 17/11/2020 23:34

No idea. Last time I had toothache which I guess was a year that started with a 1 rather than a 2

DahliaMacNamara · 17/11/2020 23:36

January. I see on here that others have been to theirs, but mine is only open for urgent care and has an emphatic DO NOT SHOW UP UNANNOUNCED type message on their website.

2 years. Called but no joy until after Covid. The wait will be ages.

stevalnamechanger · 17/11/2020 23:40

Last week . Dentist also took his mask below his chin to chat 😂

Whilst nurse had mask and visor on

stevalnamechanger · 17/11/2020 23:40

Going again this week for hygienist

hockeysticks89 · 17/11/2020 23:41

Private dentist for a scale and polish four weeks ago, my gum disease requires this every three months

Doodlepip23 · 17/11/2020 23:43

Just over a year ago. I’ve got crap teeth so I’m worried about the next check up now (whenever that might be).

RedSoloCup · 17/11/2020 23:50

January. After dodging a wisdom tooth removal 3years ago then spending 3months in pain I don't dodge the dentist anymore it's not worth it!!! Xx

BashfulClam · 17/11/2020 23:59

February and was due back in August but didn’t happen, when I called they said they won’t do check-Ups just emergencies.

2bazookas · 18/11/2020 00:00

about two months ago; checkup, and two big fillings. Not NHS.

AlohaMolly · 18/11/2020 00:07

December 2014 for a root canal.

Charliecatpaws · 18/11/2020 00:14

I should have gone just before first lockdown but didn’t make the appointment, pissed off with myself as no appointments available. DH tried to get an appointment about 5 months ago because his filling fell out, has had no luck to date

raspberryk · 18/11/2020 00:18

Years and years, actually this is awful because ds is 9 and has never been. We can’t get in anywhere when I’ve tried so I’m not sure what we can do.

thegcatsmother · 18/11/2020 00:18

Last month.

WindsorBlues · 18/11/2020 00:18

September 2020, I've a private dentist and my dental plan at £20 a month covers any work I need done.

grapewine · 18/11/2020 00:21

July. Going again in December. Regular checkups. Not in the UK though.

Scarby9 · 18/11/2020 00:22

July 2019 for me too.

I was due to see both the dentist and hygienist in February but they cancelled (non-Covid reasons). I have fnally managed to book in for a checkup on 7 December.

ArseholesOnToast · 18/11/2020 00:51

In September just for a check up. It’s a private dental practice though.

DelphineWalsh · 18/11/2020 00:53
  1. I have an appointment beginning of Dec.
MadameBlobby · 18/11/2020 00:57

March! A couple of days before lockdown!

It felt weird that it went ahead. It was check ups for me and my 2 sons. Dentist called me a few days before and I thought they’d be cancelling but it was to confirm attendance. They had full PPE and really just looked in our mouths. Thankfully we didn’t need anything done.

When I left I made the September check up appointments - obviously they haven’t gone ahead!

MadameBlobby · 18/11/2020 00:59

Oh dear, I don’t know what to suggest really. Anywhere at school who can suggest somewhere or maybe could you have a chat with the school nurse? I’m not nagging and I know you know this but your son really needs to see a dentist x
igotdemons · 18/11/2020 01:01

January for me, October for DH. He should have gone for a check up in July and I was due last month but obviously they were both cancelled. Our dental practice doesn’t seem to be anywhere near to seeing people for check ups yet, which is worrying as we both like to have a regular check up to avoid problems building up. I know other practices that have been seeing people for months now and DH’s work colleagues all seem to have seen their dentists lately too so I just can’t understand it! 😕

MadameBlobby · 18/11/2020 01:02

Pre lockdown I went every 6 months without fail. I am terrified of the dentist but I know not going will only be worse so I force myself.

BangersAndMush · 18/11/2020 01:05

Your question has put the fear into me. How dare you even ask?!

I will go to the dentist when I am good and ready. So possibly never...
