Thank you @TenCornMaidens

I will be getting some

Boredsilly · 20/11/2020 19:28

Bit of excitement today the plumber came round to look at our leaky shower and should be getting it fixed next week, working from home it's nice to see another person! Currently lying on the sofa watching Emmerdale drinking a g&t, love Friday evenings with DH and DD

SilkieRabbits · 20/11/2020 19:31

Our cat hates anyone not in our family - even if they come with a tin of tuna and give it her she will take the tuna, eat it then hiss at them and swipe them. DH is worshipped, she's very fond of DD as well and DS and I are liked but not good enough to earn the position of cat servant.

We are having pork and apple sausages, mashed potato and long brocolli for dinner. Had doughnuts for a snack. DD did her run and then bought Pringles crisps, oreo biscuits and another snack and ate a doughnut. DS is giggling as I told him he's been awarded 3 reward points by school for his fantastic contribution and conduct during PHSE day - he wasn't there Grin

SilkieRabbits · 20/11/2020 19:33

DD was at PHSE day and spoke and got 1 reward point.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 20/11/2020 19:36

I am digesting sausage rolls, and in 15 minutes will take my trailer north for the last run of the week.

soddingkitten · 20/11/2020 19:44

I went to the supermarket hungry on my way home from work, ostensibly to pick up some bread and a main for dinner. I spent £35, mostly on wine, crisps, more crisps, dips, very unhealthy posh lasagne, garlic bread and two types of chocolate dessert. DS just said he’s not going to have his melting middle chocolate pudding because “I don’t want 100% of my daily saturates in one go. The pack was red, red, red, orange, Mum!” He is 12! Shock (For our US readers, the dietary information traffic lights for salt, sugar, total fats, saturates, though not in that order.)

Champagneforeveryone · 20/11/2020 19:53

I'm about to make homemade pizza and have another beer. The fire is lit and DDogs are snoozing in various beds around the place.

ChampagneCat is howling for dinner (which she will not be getting yet) DH is predictably on Facebook and DS is horse racing online with friends. As he's just bet "£150k" I think it's fair to assume it's not real life Grin

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 20/11/2020 19:55

Had a lovely nap and now made a to do list for tomorrow - including trying to get DS to save his grades. I am so not looking forward to it.

EggyPegg · 20/11/2020 20:10

I am pleased to report that DS's egg was intact after its journey from the upstairs window. His wasn't the prettiest (it was all encased in a cereal box), especially compared to the beautiful rockets some had made. But it was extremely effective and I feel.thag substance over style is an excellent lesson to learn.

Am now crocheting and wondering if 8.10pm is too early to go to bed as I've had a busy week and am very tired.

Squirrel26 · 20/11/2020 20:26

I’ve just had lentil soup and cheese scones for dinner. I’m now wondering if I need another cheese scone.

I’m glad spuddog is feeling better, @Spudlet, and hope he is over the indignity of the socks. Grin

I don’t think 8.10 is too early for bed. It’ll be 8.30 by the time you actually get there, and that’s almost 9, which is definitely bedtime.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 20/11/2020 20:43

Eggy Congratulations on DS's save egg journey

It is never to early to go to bed - if you feel tired you probaly are and your body tells you sth.

IEat · 20/11/2020 21:11

I got a seat on the train tonight Grin

OrangeIsTheNewTwat · 20/11/2020 21:20

I had a stirfry for dinner. We just got our hob fixed, I've missed being able to use it.

I might go all out & have a hot chocolate too. Discovered that hot chocolate made with good quality grated chocolate is divine, definitely worth the effort.

Taswama · 20/11/2020 21:27

Bought some pumpkin seeds in town today so will be able to make DS's breakfast bars tomorrow. The protein bars I made last weekend (cashews, dates and chickpeas as main ingredients) were not that popular.

EggyPegg · 20/11/2020 21:32

I'm in bed and thinking that I may go to sleep shortly.

I went onto the Scouts website to order DSs Beaver sweatshirt after procrastinating since last week, to find that pleasingly it had been reduced from £14 to £9.80. It was £3.99 postage and I was guilted into donating the extra 21p to the Scouts by rounding up, so it still came in at £14, but I'll take the free postage.

billydilly · 20/11/2020 21:35

My Bengal clamoured to get into the bathroom while I was bathing and then panicked, hurling himself at the door to get out. This happened six times during my bath.

MissConductUS · 20/11/2020 21:38

I got a seat on the train tonight

Well done! I commuted by train for almost 20 years and hated having to stand.

Discovered that hot chocolate made with good quality grated chocolate is divine, definitely worth the effort.

You realize that now I'm going to have to try that. Good chocolate makes everything better. Grin

Welcome @IEat and @OrangeIsTheNewTwat! Smile

@billydilly Bengals are famous for their high energy. He's a very handsome boy.

I’ve had a g&t but am being restrained and not having another.

billydilly · 20/11/2020 21:47

@MissConductUS Hmm. He's laughing at me. It's a dysfunctional relationship.

Therainisback · 20/11/2020 21:48

I miss having pets. I make do with dog-sitting DDS' dogs.
DH & I are both still working through lockdown. Neither of us do anything vitally important, just boringly necessary. He said the phrase "key worker" should be changed to "unlucky fucker".

Therainisback · 20/11/2020 21:50

Sorry didn't mean to offend anyone furloughed - we're both just tired.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 20/11/2020 21:51

What a lovely cat!

It's 15 °C at my desk - DD, DS and DH all have a room each.
I have a corner created by lots of IVAR shelving in a room we call "Die große Halle des Wohnens", basically an L-shaped commuting area.
I'll get a heater.

Nydj · 20/11/2020 21:59

For fans of ‘chai tea’ (it pains me, as an Indian to type those words as they literally mean ‘tea tea’) - if you have South East Asian (e.g Indian, Pakistani etc) grocery stores nearby then it is worth popping in and buying a bag of masala for tea and just use a generous pinch of that with regular teabags. It is what most Indian people do and works out much, much cheaper than the fancy ‘chai tea’ bags.

In other news, we had pizza for dinner as we do almost every Friday evening.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 20/11/2020 22:58

My dog burped earlier and DD thought it was me. He does very loud, human-sounding burps like that guy who drinks beer in The Simpsons. I don't think I've ever heard another dog burp like him. He gets the hiccoughs sometimes which also seems not very dog-like to me, perhaps he has a weird digestive system.
