I'm just about to get a bowl of cereal to eat in bed.

Going for a windy walk later.

Champagneforeveryone · 18/11/2020 09:28

I have more ironing to do, including a week of work shirts for me

DDogs1-3 are all asleep in front of the fire. ChampagneCat is watching the bird feeder cat television. DH and DS are out the house and it is as silent as the grave.

DS's electric drum kit arrived yesterday amid great excitement. With much trepidation I have just approached my wonderful and endlessly patient neighbours, who swear blind that they cannot hear it. I cannot imagine this is the case, but we have agreed on an early cut off time (for our sanity as much as theirs!) DH and I had considered buying a small token for them at Christmas with a note to thank them for being such good neighbours -I may make DS pay for it now Grin

Will do my Duolingo now to appease the owl.

sueelleker · 18/11/2020 09:41

@Champagneforeveryone; I sent my neighbours a basket from fruitgalore.co.uk as a thank you for feeding our cat while we were on holiday.

Squirrel26 · 18/11/2020 09:51

My dad has sent me a list of jigsaw puzzles he already owns, unless I was thinking of buying him a new one for Christmas. I probably will, so the list is useful.

Is it one with headphones, @Champagneforeveryone? My parents live next door to a family who have one of those. They can only hear the sound of the drum sticks hitting the pads, and only when they’re in the bathroom. It doesn’t bother them; they don’t spend loads of time hanging out in the bathroom.

Champagneforeveryone · 18/11/2020 09:56

Thank you squirrel, it's the foot drum (I'm sure it has a more technical name!) that's causing a dull thudding throughout the house. DH has plans in hand for soundproofing at the weekend so hopefully all will be well. DNeighbour has recently had new hearing aids fitted, so I suppose it's likely that he just switches them off. Unfortunately his wife cannot do the same Grin

Thank you sueelleker, that's actually the sort of thing I would like to receive myself.

HiyaMeAgain · 18/11/2020 09:56

@sueelleker

The wind is rushing round the house like I forgot to feed it. What a lovely phrase! *@Hiyameagain*; which fragrance?
I could only get floral bouquet, it made the house smell amazing though
TenCornMaidens · 18/11/2020 09:58

I have restarted duolingo after years thanks to you all.

ColdOopNorth · 18/11/2020 10:01

I had banana bread with peanut butter for breakfast.

MissConductUS · 18/11/2020 10:30

Good morning ladies! It's grand to see the new thread off to such a nice start. I'm just back from my run. 0 degrees out and 30 mph winds. Today is paper recycling day, so lots of the containers have blown over leaving Amazon and Chewy boxes all over the street. I started to pick some of them up but then cba.

A week from today I"ll be off for Thanksgiving and driving up to Boston to pick up DS. The last thread lasted 17 days so hopefully, we won't be on page 10 that day.

I'm sorry about everyone's dental woes. I hope I didn't kick off some bad dental voodoo with my extraction two weeks ago. Eggy if your tooth hurts when you brush it, it's infected. Ring the dentist as they'll probably want you on antibiotics before they have you in to extract it.

Sodding ran off when I started the vacuum cleaner after breakfast and reappeared from the garden half an hour later wringing wet (heavy rain). I had to towel dry him and I have put the heating on specially to make his hammock extra toasty.

SilkieRabbits · 18/11/2020 11:00

DH has gone back to sleep. DS is still suffering from extreme deafness and schoolworkitus which improves in the evenings.

DD is doing really well in GCSE assessments, all in at the maximum 9 bar one subject so far.

DH's phone just pinged, he raised his head then flooped again.

rosieb060 · 18/11/2020 11:38

I'm making a loaf. I meant to make one yesterday and I forgot.

That is one spoiled Siamese!
whatsoccuringnow · 18/11/2020 12:46

I'm having a baked potato for lunch. Not decided what to put on it. My new shoes are comfortable and I like them. It's very windy, but it's not actually cold so I've not put the heating on as I was boiling yesterday with it on.

SilkieRabbits · 18/11/2020 12:49

We are having pork and apple sausage sandwiches for lunch. DS is still grizzly about school work and is sneezing. DH is playing the piano. DD is at school.

soddingkitten · 18/11/2020 13:22

That is one spoiled Siamese!

Is there any other kind? DH said I should not refer to him as “my best boy”, my usual term of endearment for him, when our sons are in earshot in case they feel slighted. 😆 I’ve just spent my home-working lunch break playing with him in the living room...

Sheusedtobesomeonelse · 18/11/2020 13:35

Found the 7th thead!

It was 5° this morning when i went on my run delivering banana pancakes to my XHs doorstep for my DDs (and XH if he wants them Hmm), I made too many last night using up the ripe bananas and DD1 loves them so carried the parcel carefully not to squash them Smile
It is gloriously sunny and a blue sky extraodinaire here, though the temperature is meant to drop at the weekend.

Have just had a delivery of christmas bits but half is missing so am finishing my coffee and will phone Marks & Spencer to see what's what.

TrickyD · 18/11/2020 13:41

Have removed the priceless antiques (as if) from the sitting room shelves, dusted, polished and replaced. Said shelves are really a huge overmantel, far too big to fit over any of our mantelpieces. Known as ‘The Baldwin Shelves’ because my mum bought them in an auction of the contents of prime minister Stanley Baldwin’s house after his death.
Get dusted roughly twice a year.

TheSilveryPussycat · 18/11/2020 13:42

I am learning how to use Onedrive.

Nosnogginginthekitchen · 18/11/2020 13:45

I bought hobnobs.
Because I have a cold so fuck the diet.

Sheusedtobesomeonelse · 18/11/2020 14:34

3rd Parcel is winging its way to me, i need to sit down now after that exciting phone call!

Hobnobs are a great pick me up when feeling under the weather *Nosnogging - perhaps dunked? ( I personally dont dunk but i have heard great things about a soggy biscuit).

Squirrel26 · 18/11/2020 15:20

I have held back from sending an unnecessary WhatsApp and email.

I have awarded myself 1000 ‘adulting’ and 500 ‘think before you speak’ points.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 18/11/2020 15:30

I am waiting for a little taster language lesson for beginners. I hope the zoom link works.

It's already dark-
I may go back to the office tomorrow.

soddingkitten · 18/11/2020 15:30

Well done Squirrel! Have a Star from me too.

EggyPegg · 18/11/2020 15:37

I'm queuing outside Next waiting to pick up an order.

After the success of adding grapes to my spinach, pasta, cucumber, tomato and pepper lunch yesterday, I added avocado today too. It was very nice.
