Aged 16 I went on a 5 minute pleasure flight in Orlando. We flew over discovery cove and saw the dolphins.

I was air lifted to hospital when I was 19. I was in and out of consciousness and don't remember much at all.

A few. Several different types of military helicopter (when I was in the TA). One over the Grand Canyon.

HmmSureJan · 14/11/2020 21:05

Yes, I abseiled out of it too.

SunbathingDragon · 14/11/2020 21:05

Yes, at one stage I did for work. Must admit to thinking it was the coolest thing ever when I started. Grin Haven’t been on one for years now.

bloodywhitecat · 14/11/2020 21:05

Yes, I won a trip in a helicopter a few years ago. Hate airplanes, bloody love helicopters!

OneLinePlease · 14/11/2020 21:06

Was wonderful.

Bluntness100 · 14/11/2020 21:07

Yes, over Niagara Falls. It was amazing.

RunningFromInsanity · 14/11/2020 21:12

Yes and a Chinnook. Suffer from bad travel sickness so didn’t really enjoy either but didn’t want to pass up the opportunity Blush

Oldraver · 14/11/2020 21:16

No, I narrowly missed a flight in the Air Ambulance as I was too far on in labour than they thought. DS was born not long after

chipsandpeas · 14/11/2020 21:17

yes down the vegas strip at night for about 20 mins

phlapz · 14/11/2020 21:17

All sorts fairly constantly for the last 25 years, quite a cool way to travel sometimes and see some unusual places but I've been involved in a few near misses / very unpleasant flights (mostly due to weather conditions) and had to deal with the aftermath of a few coming down unexpectedly. Sad

TableDesk · 14/11/2020 21:21

Yep on my wedding day from church to venue. Kind of landed when the other wedding was doing their photos and all their guests came over to see us land. Other bride was not very happy Blush

Elouera · 14/11/2020 21:23

Yes. Best was over Kakadu national park, Northern Territory, Australia with the doors off!

bengalcat · 14/11/2020 21:25

Yep was airlifted and all ‘ bondaged up ‘ following a riding accident to hospital - all ok now though .

BiddyPop · 14/11/2020 21:28

Yes- DH and I got a flight around our city 20 years ago.

icedancerlenny · 14/11/2020 21:29

Yes - I have a private helicopter licence!

TwoBlueFish · 14/11/2020 21:33

Yes, pleasure flight over New York about 20 years ago

ChocBeforeCock · 14/11/2020 21:36

Yes, from Kathmandu to Lukla because the planes were all cancelled due to the clouds. I think when we got up there, perhaps the helicopter flights should have been cancelled too! Didn’t enjoy it at all, bit scary, but the Everest Valley was totally worth it.

imnottoofussed · 14/11/2020 21:37

Yes an evening trip over the Vegas strip. It was amazing 🤩

NeverTwerkNaked · 14/11/2020 21:38

Yes, through the Alps. it was spectacular but I was terrified!

theliverpoolone · 14/11/2020 21:38

Yes. It was a great experience, but made me feel quite travel sick so wouldn't have liked more than the hour I had.

Member · 14/11/2020 21:45

No and it’s a mode of transport I will actively avoid.

As a child I had nightmares about them chopping down washing lines/chopping up people as they fell from the sky.

At least if a plane engine fails, other engines/wings can compensate.

SpeckledyHen · 14/11/2020 21:50

Yes .
5 minutes over the Village Fete .
Grand Canyon and LV Strip on New Years Eve was amazing. Super cool pilot played great music - peaked with Free Bird full blast as we went over the rim .
London along the Thames from Battersea to almost London City Airport .
Dull dull dull pilot so not so much fun .
