Have you been in a helicopter?

Aged 16 I went on a 5 minute pleasure flight in Orlando. We flew over discovery cove and saw the dolphins.

I was air lifted to hospital when I was 19. I was in and out of consciousness and don't remember much at all.

Yes in Barbados years ago cost £100 each. Looked to do it again last year on another island and now £250 each so would have cost us £1000 for 15 mins!! We didn't surprisingly.

Yes, and that helicopter was subsequently in a high-profile crash in which everyone on board was killed, so not that keen.

Over Victoria Falls and the park around.

Was actually much more terrifying than I expected. Was cool seeing the elephants from above though!

Yes, on our honeymoon. Was brilliant.

Yes, I chartered one from our local airport to Heathrow, where we were catching our honeymoon flight - as a surprise for the new husband, who loved flying :) It was brilliant, and the helicopter people gave us a bottle of champagne, too!

Never and I never would for leisure. Aside from the fact I hate heights, I just feel like if something went wrong, that’s it, no second chances. At least with a plane it could glide.

Sod getting in a helicopter!

No and it’s a mode of transport I will actively avoid.

As a child I had nightmares about them chopping down washing lines/chopping up people as they fell from the sky.

At least if a plane engine fails, other engines/wings can compensate.

My thoughts too!

Yes, twice on the same day. I won a writing competition at school when I was 7. I got to go to an air field where Santa arrived in a helicopter, and I got to up with both Santa, another mascot (lion I think) and another child. Loved every minute of it.
I wanted to go in one in Iceland, but DH flat refuses to go in one. Too dangerous according to him.

Yes when ds 2 was very young he had an terrible accident while we were up north on holiday and we had to be air lifted to the children's hospital. It was the middle of the night though so could only see lights from towns dotted around. Worst thing that's ever happened but that was because of the situation.
Dp beat us there in the car.
