How has Covid affected Janet & Roy in 2020?

Wondering if anyone's doing Janet & Roy this year?
I know it's early but as those if you in England are on lockdown, it could be a good time to get creative.
I certainly could do with cheering up reading all about 2020 in the Janet &Roy household.
I have a few ideas and hope to put a letter together. I'm thinking because alot of us can't get together with friends this year, a Janet & Roy letter might go down well, with light hearted friends.

I happily would.
have nice cards and post from 'forrin' for added confusion Grin

LongPauseNoAnswer · 11/11/2020 13:12

I can send one from France or Switzerland.

I love Janet and Roy, maybe someone needs to hear about their decision to isolate in a Swiss chalet eating fondue and raclette Grin

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 11/11/2020 13:14

Grin I bet they aren't happy about cruises being cancelled...

Horsemad · 11/11/2020 13:47

😆

KindergartenKop · 11/11/2020 18:10

Janet, Roy and Keith (who's in our bubble now!)

EssentialHummus · 11/11/2020 18:32

I'm in! Zone 2 London if anyone wants a letter from here.

QueenOfLabradors · 11/11/2020 18:37

'Thankfully Roy's COVID infection was confined to just losing his sense of smell and taste for about four weeks. He did have a rather nasty moment though when naughty Tiddles had an accident while exploring the kitchen work top, which looked exactly like a Belgian Chocolate Seashell.'

MontanaSky · 11/11/2020 18:41

I love Janet & Roy
They would definitely have a tale to tell of how they chose their bubble along with the ongoing saga of the cancelled holiday and refund claim

pinkbalconyrailing · 11/11/2020 18:59

can we have a secret santa kind of thing to pick janet and roy letters to write and to receive?

Gancanny · 11/11/2020 20:05

Janet tried her hand at making a sourdough starter and found that it was excellent for making banana bread but of course no bananas came on the online shop (Janet and Roy are almost digital natives now ever since Roy did a Silver Surfer computer class at the community centre). Not to fear though, ever the resourceful one Janet managed to substitute the bananas for a few ounces of the banana liqueur they picked up in port during their last cruise.

Oh I love this! I can't wait to hear about what they've been up to. Do you think they've stuck to the rules??

ohidoliketobe · 11/11/2020 20:45

Ohhhh I love reading the J&R threads each year and has completely forgotten about them til I just saw this!
@KindergartenKop heehee love the insinuations you could make with Keith, a very close friend they have bubbled up with Grin

Gancanny · 11/11/2020 20:46

Oh undoubtedly, except of course for Thursday bridge night because Boris Johnson couldn't have intended for them to cancel it. Its only them and four of their closest friends, barely anyone at all really.

Pechanga · 11/11/2020 20:50

I love Janet & Roy, I'm so relieved even COVID hasn't stopped them and their shenanigans!

bubblebubblebubbletrouble · 11/11/2020 20:51

Love J&R adventures.
A friend sent a gushingly grim circular with her Christmas card (pic of baby dressed up obvs) & has joined an mlm whilst on furlough this year so the 2020 version ought to be fun

ZadieZadie · 11/11/2020 21:02

I'm in. I can send from Portugal, if Janet has run off with Reinaldo.

OohKittens · 11/11/2020 21:06

I'm in pembrokeshire if anyone wants one

OohKittens · 11/11/2020 21:07

Love this idea!
EssentialHummus · 11/11/2020 21:22

@OohKittens let’s do one for each other, I can do wonders with something posted from Pembrokeshire Grin

mathanxiety · 11/11/2020 21:50

...

ReallySpicyCurry · 11/11/2020 21:56

Please can someone link me to one of the original threads? I got one done for my parents about five years ago, and overhearing them tell a friend about the "mystery round robin"as we all stood at the tombola at the PTA Christmas Fair, is up there with the funniest incidents in my life to date

wheresmymojo · 11/11/2020 22:44

I'd like one!

Happy to do one from Hampshire too...

OohKittens · 12/11/2020 06:17

@EssentialHummus message me Grin
