Hi all. I thought I'd start a thread for those who are finding it tough going at the moment. The idea is to write about anything positive you have done .... a walk, bought yourself some flowers, went to the park with your kids etc.

Please also feel free to say if you've had a tough day as well if you need to let off steam.

Fixed the top hinge of my front door and now I don't have to call in a workman.

Dowser · 04/11/2020 17:28

Overshopped
Over spent
On stuff I didn’t need
Stress reaction

PickAChew · 04/11/2020 17:32

Finished sewing a comfy pair of pyjamas and started planning the next pair. The top of this pair has armadillos on and makes me smile.

I worked despite terrible anxiety about everything.

peaceanddove · 04/11/2020 17:43

Just been upstairs and closed the curtains, switched on bedside lamps, put my new book out and turned back the quilt, so it will feel lovely and cosy later when we go to bed.

Also, just lit a couple of scented candles and now sipping a big mug of Twinnings No. 22 Dark Caramel Tea and it's delicious x

AdoraBell · 04/11/2020 17:49

Fed dogs.
Walked into town for errands.
Sorted freezer
Took delivery of new Christmas 🎄
Had lunch, from said freezer
Showered
Order Christmas pyjamas on Sainsbury’s
Half heartedly cleared kitchen
☕️ and TV

Still to do, feed dogs again, dinner and finish sorting kitchen

Sloth66 · 04/11/2020 17:51

Did 20 minutes on my stepper, worked in the morning.
Long walk and bit of shopping this afternoon in lovely sunny weather.
Zoom Yoga class, now just about to go out for a meal nearby before lockdown tomorrow.

InsaneProbably · 04/11/2020 18:00

Looks great @PickAChew !

I've been a really crappy mood today, so I've mostly done things trying to spend my angry energy on things other than snapping at innocent people.

 • Went for a last workout at the gym.
 • Did some very random cleaning, eg. the filter in the handheld vacuum cleaner, and other pointless bits.
 • Went for a long walk.
 • Did a bunch of stretching, because the walk hurt my legs.
 • Had an angry bath.
 • Ended up just playing some computer games while listening to music.
 • Currently cooking some salmon and broccoli for dinner. Angrily.
 • Mostly avoided the news.

2 loads of washing and drying, hoovered, 3 lots of washing up. Brushed my dogs who are melting like mad. Read my book while ds napped, mil came over for a last cup of tea before lockdown and my mum bought me my fave dark choc and ginger cookies, not too bad but asd son seems very fractious tonight so im not looking forward to bedtime routine tonight

LethargicLumpOfLockdownLard · 04/11/2020 18:15

Followed the US election until around 2am when I fell asleep on the sofa. Woke at 7:15 when DCs started getting up and ready for school.
Tea and toast.
Did the school run on foot, came home to find DD had left her lunch so defrosted the car and went back to school.
Bins out, laundry on. Washed up.
More tea and toast then back to bed, more election fun then had a nap until 1, coffee in bed and more Internet time as I had awful period pain. Then school run again, more coffee, DS to club, picked up prescription, more washing up, dinner on and a vokda and orange as I'm out of decent painkillers.

Purplecatshopaholic · 04/11/2020 18:18

Had a really busy day yesterday, then today felt really down and have achieved sod all. Ups and downs at the moment I guess. Chilled out with some films, my pets and DP, and decided not to feel bad about myself.

Indoctro · 04/11/2020 18:24

Dropped son at school bus, drove 45 minutes to my mums to drop my preschool child off as then had to take my car to garage as it was getting repaired
Ran 5 miles while car was in garage then went to a large toy store for some Xmas gifts. Back to mothers house to collect my son. Drove home to catch the school bus then home , did dinner now sitting down for 5 minutes before tidying up and doing kids beds

Absolutely shattered so early night , kids woke me at 3am with one getting in bed then again at 5am with other getting in bed.

Separatedandabitsad · 04/11/2020 22:12

Not a great day today mental health wise. Got stressed by a few things at work. I did, however, go for a nice walk. Tomorrow is another day.

Namechange8471 · 04/11/2020 22:27

Separatedandabitsad Sorry to hear that, hope you're ok.

Same here another bad driving lessons, this will be about 15 hours now and still struggle with the basics.

Vonvon222 · 04/11/2020 22:44

I’m on day 13 of isolation, had a video interview this morning after losing my job a month ago so 🤞 I think it went well.

Separatedandabitsad · 04/11/2020 23:02

@Vonvon222

Fingers crossed for you. I hope you get it.

Separatedandabitsad · 04/11/2020 23:04

@Namechange8471
Thank you. Just tired from not sleeping & early mornings for work & it leaves me more sensitive by day.

As for the driving, Stick with the lessons & i promise you, it’ll click.

EatTheHamTina · 04/11/2020 23:07

Not much today. Popped to smyths this evening before they shut the shop tomorrow. Wel click and collect will be open but wanted to browse.

EatTheHamTina · 04/11/2020 23:07

Well*

hotchocolatey · 05/11/2020 07:14

@Vonvon222 Good luck with the job!

I had a bit of a bad evening with one thing and another but we are getting close to the weekend.

serialreturner · 05/11/2020 07:23
@serialreturner why do you keep leaving your engagement ring at your arse?
I wish I knew!

First time - on the mantelpiece hidden behind a picture no idea

Second time - I think I took it off when asleep and found it when I shook the duvet.

Lockdown is giving me a fuzzy brain!

InsaneProbably · 05/11/2020 15:18

Afternoon.

It's clearly another lockdown, since I've been baking. Picture is of some banana and ginger muffins. Also made bread rolls.

Other than that, I've drawn up some plans on home exercising until the gym opens again. Have done some yoga and been on the crosstrainer. Popped outside, too, as my weekly prescriptions needed picking up. The town was quieter than normal, but not like first-lockdown-quiet.

Sitting here uncomfortably full right now, after sampling my bakings a bit too much. Waiting for a phone call. Not feeling too bad today so far.

What Have You Done Today?
AdoraBell · 05/11/2020 18:25

Today close to FA.

Got up late
Had breakfast
Cooked lunch
Cleared the side in the bathroom because we’re replacing it.

Had plans to go to either Sainsbury’s or farm shop but it didn’t happen. I even got ready to go out, I need sunblock. Sat down with a ☕️ and fell asleep.

Dowser · 05/11/2020 19:36

Packed caravan away until we are allowed to go back again.
Took all afternoon sifting, sorting and extra cleaning
Not Windows though, they can wait.
Now home got to find places for it all

Drive home was as normal traffic wise.
@PickAChew
Those jamas are so amazing
