Hi all. I thought I'd start a thread for those who are finding it tough going at the moment. The idea is to write about anything positive you have done .... a walk, bought yourself some flowers, went to the park with your kids etc.

Please also feel free to say if you've had a tough day as well if you need to let off steam.

Dog walk, some shopping, ordered an afternoon tea for tomorrow (big wedding anniversary) and now I am sewing.

yearinyearout · 02/11/2020 18:02

@serialreturner why do you keep leaving your engagement ring at your arse?

InsaneProbably · 02/11/2020 18:10

The fort became boring as soon as I stopped trying to construct it, of course. The cat's been in a few times, and has been chewing at a cardboard corner, so I guess that's something.

I've been lazy this afternoon and early evening. Had a bath. Messaged with some people about various changes/cancellations what with the lockdown. Feeling a bit down. Hoping for early night.

Separatedandabitsad · 02/11/2020 18:12

Nice idea, thanks OP.

I made myself a reasonably healthy dinner after dinner, had a steaming hot cup of tea and am now about to get into a steaming hot shower.

I felt lower than low this weekend, but today I feel better, so it turns out nothing really does last forever, even sad moods.

Separatedandabitsad · 02/11/2020 18:12

^after WORK (not dinner after dinner!mmmm 2 dinners Grin)

PolarnOPirate · 02/11/2020 19:18

It’s been a manic one here! Mondays always seem to be mad.

Inset day for 5 year old so
8:15 took 3 y/o to nursery and went to tip and Sainsbury’s
Home at 10ish, DS did screen time while I did 40 min workout.
10:40 played with DS
12 DS’ lunch
12:30 lunch for me
12:45 shower for me
1-2:45 singing lesson for me inc travel time
3:10 left for DS’ ice skating lesson
5pm dropped DS home and straight back out to get 3yo from nursery
6:30-7:30 bath and bed

Going to sit and do emails now while DH finished bedtime. Felt so good to be so busy for today!! Had a horrendous week last week mental health wise. Good to have a busy day before lockdown ensues. DS’ bday on Friday so will be the third lockdown birthday we’ve had (2 in May), and mine is later in Nov so we’ll be fully locked down for 4/4 bdays this year!!

I also need to know the answer to this!

PolarnOPirate · 02/11/2020 19:27

Oh and we had the skip collected so can finally park on our drive again 😄

Separatedandabitsad · 02/11/2020 21:56

Good night everyone. I watched some comedy TV before bed which always makes me feel better. Star

ScrapThatThen · 02/11/2020 22:23

Ran another 3 miles towards my planned 50 miles for November. I was even slower than Sunday but actually I really enjoyed it even in the dark and drizzle. Then a nice warm shower.

hotchocolatey · 03/11/2020 12:52

Had a busy morning and got lots done.

Managed to have only one biscuit this morning and went for a quick walk at lunchtime.

I went the Trafford centre and bought dh some new clothes for his birthday. I had a nice coffee on the way there. I've come home and put my comfies on and I'm watching tv on the sofa with a cup of tea until I pick the kids up. I'm really enjoying the peace and quiet (except the dog snoring!)

MaMisled · 03/11/2020 14:08

Made a Lamb Tikka Masala for dinner, DH and I took dogs for 2 hour walk in woods with flasks of coffee and cherry x coconut oatcakes, cut and groomed hairy dogs, danced/exercised for 30 minutes, ate Rustlers Rib burgers and will now watch YouTube murder documentaries, nap at 5, start 12 hr night shift at 8. A good day!

InsaneProbably · 03/11/2020 19:01

Today I have:

  • Had a phone session with my therapist, which was a bit - hmm - neither here nor there, but I guess it got done anyway?
  • Been out for a walk and done some yoga at home.
  • Eaten all my meals. Cooked some pork and veg for dinner.
  • Tried to avoid overwatching the news, as they're making me anxious.

Not at all in a good mood today, but it is what it is.

teddybearsbear · 03/11/2020 19:23

Had my roots done and a good haircut
All in all a great day for me

H1978 · 03/11/2020 19:35

A day of chores mainly laundry and cleaning the bathroom then out to get shopping for dsis who has tested positive for covid. The shop was manic and I couldn’t wait to get out. Cooked dinner and cleaned up, now in pyjamas contemplating if it’s too early to go to bed when all dcs are still up Grin

Namechange8471 · 03/11/2020 19:56

Feeling very unmotivated today.
Had essays to write, did zero. Managed to wash the pots and hoover around, that's it.

Valkadin · 03/11/2020 20:30

Had a 45 min walk, chatted to MIL on phone for 30 mins, watched a horror film with DS, he is 19.

Did two loads of laundry, played on my video game for 2 hours, made lunch for DH and I and made a pasta bake for dinner.

About to watch our box set for an hour, having a nap, getting up to watch some of the US election coverage with DS around midnight.

Separatedandabitsad · 03/11/2020 20:40

@MaMisled That sounds like the perfect day!

I worked, did some yoga at home, had a long chat with my friend, made a fabulous dinner and dessert and am now watching my favourite sitcom. I felt so sad earlier but feeling a lot better now. Flowers

I went to the office while I could

It’s city centre and there was a vibe of “while we can”

It was great

BillywigSting · 03/11/2020 20:50

I was planning to blitz the house as it's currently not that untidy but very grubby.

Have been in work doing 12 hour shifts since Saturday and dp has not done a lick of cleaning.

Got a call off my boss at half eight this morning begging me to come in because they were (again) short staffed. I said I could stay until 2 because I needed to do the school run.

So I dropped ds off, legged it to work, legged it to the shop for bread and milk, picked up ds, did his homework with him (he's 7), fed him, showered him, folded the laundry that has been on the radiator since Friday night and said to dp I was ordering in because I am utterly exhausted.

I'm now eating pizza and watching football. I found tomato sauce in my hair.

I'm going to finish eating (the pizza is technically breakfast) and collapse on my bed.

I would like to do the thick end of fuck all tomorrow but I know the house is going to bug me until it's clean. Then another 12 hour shift on Thursday.

I am so so tired.

foofooyeah · 03/11/2020 20:57

Had may hair done (cut and colour). Spoke to MIL on skype (she is in a Care Home), Washing and hoovering. Went for coffee with DP. Collected youngest son from girlfriends and oldest son from work. Cooked dinner, drank red wine, watched Indiana Jones.

hotchocolatey · 04/11/2020 17:24

I was going to get up earlier and get a coffee before starting work as a pre lockdown non essential item. I ended up sleeping in.

Just managed a short walk at lunchtime as I was waiting in for a delivery. It was a bright day and it made me feel a bit more positive.
