I've obviously spent too much time looking at houses I can't afford, as my Facebook keeps suggesting more. Here's a couple of beautiful ones I definitely can't afford!

😱wow

Enko · 02/11/2020 10:40

I dont actually like either. First one gives me a weird wibe (not ghost etc just weird) 2nd one the building is beautiful but the inside is just opulence to trump style and that is so not me. I am however going to take some time to find some property porn I do like Grin

KedsAndTubeSocks · 02/11/2020 18:34

@Enko please post some links when you do - I love some property porn!

I know what you mean about the footballers house, it's too show-off-y, but I quite like the Scottish Castle - totally impractical though!

I really don't like either of those properties, the first one is fugly and the second one looks vulgar to me. I've lived in some beautiful, secluded houses (not owned, by the way! Just tied to jobs). All of them were burgled. I blame Google Earth.

ChildOfTheNineties · 02/11/2020 23:43

The second one on your list (it will be yours when you win the lottery) is just beautiful. Some modernisation needed on the inside but only cosmetically and the outside and grounds are stunning.

FraughtwithGin · 03/11/2020 05:15

I would have the castle in a heartbeat!

cardswapping · 03/11/2020 06:12

Scarily the East Lothian castle is cheaper than a four bed in my area of London! I wonder how good the wifi connection is... Grin

My contribution rightmove link to a humble place in SW London

I had to look at this; now you all do too. www.coldwellbankerhomes.com/tx/everman/300-noble-ave/pid_37629757/

AhoyMeFarties · 03/11/2020 09:18

My word! Even Versace would have thought that over the top!!!

Enko

I liked the Tunbridge house and the West Sussex one buttoo many of those houses have beams. I hate beams!

KormaKormaChameleon · 04/11/2020 08:56

@barkingfly

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?

thisldo · 04/11/2020 08:58

Oh wow, but imagine the heating bills Shock

Twistered · 04/11/2020 09:11

Barkingfly .... I have sore eyes from that hideous mess Grin

MrsGulDukat · 04/11/2020 09:20

This my little contribution

barkingfly · 04/11/2020 09:20

Sorry guys--that was awful even for Texas.

janj2301 · 04/11/2020 13:39

I love huge houses but my practical side keeps going to cost of furnishing, cleaning etc. I don't have a large family/friend network so don't need the space really. I have no taste so I'd be terrified of how to decorate/furnish it, more stress than it's worth

Panicmode1 · 04/11/2020 14:57

I know the owners of one of those interesting Wink ones @Enko and it's even more beautiful inside. I think it's being sold in two lots, so you can either spend close to £10m and get all the land or almost £4m and the house......

I have had my eye on the Nevill Park one in case I win the lottery - we'd not be moving far either!

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 04/11/2020 15:22

Beams are a no.
Curtain swags and tails are dust traps
Beautifully proportioned rooms, but kitchens aren’t to my taste. Still, if you had that money, you could afford to change everything.

Standrewsschool · 04/11/2020 16:12

May have to fight you for the Tunbridge Wells house, with the Scottish castle as a country retreat.

Who has the money to buy the Surrey house the op listed?!

viques · 04/11/2020 16:30

That Bardown Road house ( would have to change the address somehow, it sounds so pedestrian ) ticks all my fantasy boxes, wine cellar, walled garden, walk in larder, indoor pool. Not sure about master suite on two floors though, not unless I can squeeze in a lift! Is the wine included I wonder, it would seem a shame to risk disturbing it, or possibly dropping a few bottles.......

viques · 04/11/2020 16:33

Sorry, seem to have linked to the wrong poster , apologies barkingfly, I meant to link to Enko. It’s the one called “another lottery look at” .

Serin · 04/11/2020 16:33

who has the money to buy the Surrey house

It's Godalming innit?
Popular with arms dealers.
