If I was nine weeks pregnant I’d have noticed, wouldn’t I?

My current period is seven days late, no chance of conception since my last period so for the first couple of days I assumed it was just randomly late. Now it’s a week late and still no sign of it so I was looking at the app I use to track my periods again and remembered my last one was unusually light, was watery blood when I wiped on and off, not a consistent flow and nothing like my usual heavy periods but it lasted a week so I didn’t think too much of it. Now this ones gone awol I’m half wondering if maybe it wasn’t a proper period but it sounds daft to think I could be nine weeks pregnant and have had no inkling?
We have one son and would have liked another child so I’m worried it’s wishful thinking to an extreme degree Grin

Some women get all the way through to the end without noticing, including women who've had previous pregnancies.
So you could be OP. If that's what you want I hope you are!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 31/10/2020 15:37

Well, about 18 years ago I went to my gyn for my usual check up and he asked me the date of my last period - which was like you describe - and I told him and he said: "Well, that can't be, look here!" and there was DS.

giletrouge · 31/10/2020 15:38

Go buy a test! I'm excited for you now!

You’ll know if you do a test. At that many weeks it would come up positive any time of day if you’re pregnant.

HoldMyLobster · 31/10/2020 15:45

Well we were actively trying and I didn’t find out I was pg till 7-8 weeks.

Period had arrived exactly (to the hour) when due.

Specksofwhiteallaround · 31/10/2020 15:54

I should probably have said it took five years to conceive our son and we’ve been trying another four since we had him to no avail so I feel sort of silly getting my hopes up and it seems so unlikely.
I had no symptoms barring extreme tiredness until fairly far along with him and hardly felt any movement because of where the placenta was so I guess I don’t have a lot to compare a second pregnancy too when I think about it Hmm

Take a test!

DeciduousPerennial · 31/10/2020 16:00

No, not necessarily. There are plenty of people who don’t find out til later on because they don’t get the nausea etc.

PumpkinsandAutumnLeaves · 31/10/2020 16:04

Yes, definitely take a test op! Good luck.

IrishCream123 · 31/10/2020 16:04

Have you taken a test!

Specksofwhiteallaround · 31/10/2020 16:04

Dh is out buying a test now. I’m annoyed with myself as I’m already thinking it’ll probably be negative and I just know I’m still going to be paranoid about it until my period finally does arrive as I peed on dozens of tests when I was having my son and all were negative, we eventually found out for certain via a scan.

Oh I'm hoping so hard for you!!

Get that test, you need to know one way or the other.

JustFrustrated · 31/10/2020 16:08

I hope you get the outcome you want.

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 31/10/2020 16:08

I was 12 weeks with the second before it dawned on me I was pregnant Blush

Newnamenewopenme · 31/10/2020 16:09

We’ve been trying for years too, what usually happens is - I’m a week late, buy a test, do test, immediately come on period!

Fingers crossed for you!

LividLaughLurve · 31/10/2020 16:09

I had a short “period” that wasn’t when I got pregnant...

thestarvingcaterpillar · 31/10/2020 16:10

I have everything crossed for you x

Specksofwhiteallaround · 31/10/2020 16:11

@Newnamenewopenme haha I said that exact thing to Dh when he offered to go get one, if nothing else it might bring it on Grin

The only way you’ll know your pregnant is to take a test.

I had periods for 5 months on my first. Admittedly they were watery and only lasted a day or two but they were every month.

Good luck with the test 🍀

giletrouge · 31/10/2020 16:12

Eeek! Everything crossed for you OP!

BreadmanAndCake · 31/10/2020 16:12

I found out with my son when I was 9 weeks. We'd been trying for years and I'd given up hope and stopped tracking as diligently so I didn't cotton on for a while as I was lucky enough to have no symptoms! Good luck x

BeautifulandWilfulandDead · 31/10/2020 16:14

I was nine weeks with my first when I realised!

pumpkinpie01 · 31/10/2020 16:15

Fingers crossed for you , my dil didn't find out til she was 9 weeks then it turned out she was actually 13 weeks so it does happen .
