If I was nine weeks pregnant I’d have noticed, wouldn’t I?

My current period is seven days late, no chance of conception since my last period so for the first couple of days I assumed it was just randomly late. Now it’s a week late and still no sign of it so I was looking at the app I use to track my periods again and remembered my last one was unusually light, was watery blood when I wiped on and off, not a consistent flow and nothing like my usual heavy periods but it lasted a week so I didn’t think too much of it. Now this ones gone awol I’m half wondering if maybe it wasn’t a proper period but it sounds daft to think I could be nine weeks pregnant and have had no inkling?
We have one son and would have liked another child so I’m worried it’s wishful thinking to an extreme degree Grin

I had a period just like u described right before starting IVF, went in for the initial scan and there I was pregnant Shock it happens

Specksofwhiteallaround · 31/10/2020 16:17

Sounds like finding out late is a lot more common that I thought, I assumed everyone would come tell me its wishful thinking Shock

I had IVF, so I knew very early on. But had the doctor not called, I honestly wouldn't have had any clue until the morning sickness kicked in at about 10 weeks. No symptoms, slight watery bleeding as you mentioned that I might have thought was a period, maybe just a little bit tired. When the doctor called to say my test was positive, I almost couldn't believe it as I felt so normal. Fingers crossed for you.

I bled throughout my pregnancy, it’s more common than you’d think! Please let us nosey lot know the result ASAP!

Bettina500 · 31/10/2020 16:30

With my youngest I didn't have any symptoms until around 9 weeks. And I only tested because I had some strange light bleeding.
Good luck!

Fingers crossed for you OP. I got to ten weeks without any suspicion, including what I thought was a normal period.

LunaLoveFood · 31/10/2020 16:36

I was 9 weeks when I found out with ds1. I only took a test as I was going out for my works Christmas party and couldn't remember when my last period was so thought I better check just in case.
To my surprise it was positive and my planned boozy night out turned into me driving!
Good luck 🍀

Test was negative, it being a false negative really would be a stretch of the imagination at this many weeks. Just bad luck to have a random late period straight after an weirdly light one I guess. At least I can have a glass of wine this evening while contemplating Lockdown Smile
