Brexit

Ineverpromisedyouapinkrose78 · 23/10/2020 20:27

That we drink too much booze.

PersonaNonGarter · 23/10/2020 20:29

I don’t really hate. But I would like us to be a bit more positive about politicians. I dislike that ‘They’re all in it for themselves’ trope.

WellQualifiedToRepresentTheLBC · 23/10/2020 20:30

The country I am from - the misogyny is truly shocking. It isn't safe to be female there.

The country I live in now - the utter lack of education on its own history, leading to an utter lack of insight into why things are as they are at present. Also an absolute chasm of understanding as to how good they have it - one of the richest and safest nations on earth but folk are still furious about how bad they have it.

Badgerbadger22 · 23/10/2020 20:30

How politicians sound like they’re going BAAAAAA like a group of angry old sheep in the Houses of Parliament when they all agree on something.

JudgeRindersMinder · 23/10/2020 20:31

Selmaselma · 23/10/2020 20:35

Rascism and ignorance.

MrsTerryPratchett · 23/10/2020 20:36

I've lived in three. I wonder if people can guess the country from the issue Grin

Fucking Brexit. And everybody who voted for Brexit, and everybody who voted remain but their 80 year old mother voted for Brexit but it's fine because (bless her) she remembers the war. And everybody who says we need to respect Brexit because Democracy. Oh wait, I wanted to work the word 'fuck' in there at least three more times but I ran out of words.

fortran · 23/10/2020 20:38

Societal inequalities

Yewtown · 23/10/2020 20:38

Sectarianism.

LastRoloIsMine · 23/10/2020 20:39

Poor children are allowed to starve because their parents have sky TV and smoke.

SnoozyBoozy · 23/10/2020 20:40

Constant negativity and 'can't do' attitude. I've lived in other countries where people are generally more positive and up beat, and it really brought me down to come back here.

DuckonaBike · 23/10/2020 20:42

nearlynermal summarises it pretty well.

The increasing levels of corruption aren’t great either.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 23/10/2020 20:42

Just Brexit.

And the current Government, as a follow on.

Otherwise I think the UK is fine, on the whole a better place to live than many places in the world. I can only think of a few countries I'd rather live in and they are all in Europe and have better weather but that's all Grin.

EssentialHummus · 23/10/2020 20:43

+1 for Brexit.

DumbleDorkReturns · 23/10/2020 20:44

That children are going hungry. That their parents have to chose between heating or eating. That the parents often go without themselves so their children can eat

Dugee · 23/10/2020 20:45

Politicians selling off state assets to rich friends for discounted prices. Awarding public contracts to rich friends without any due diligence. No I don't live in Russia.

I don't mind the weather here, I like seasons.

RainbowCookie · 23/10/2020 20:47

Racism, poverty, government corruption, unemployment is over 40%

PhoneAddict · 23/10/2020 20:49

England - Every good time appears to be centred around drink. With emphasis on getting shit faced. I went out in Athens last year, out until the early hours. People were having alcohol, but they appeared to be there to actually have a good time with their friends, rather than who can get rat arsed and behave the worst.

nearlynermal · 23/10/2020 20:53

duckonabike getting slightly more serious: yes the sudden ramp up in corruption (am I naive? Has it always been there but now there's this culture of impunity?) is very frightening.

GeorgiaGirl52 · 23/10/2020 20:56

Not hatred, but very ashamed of Trump.
