(Socially distanced of course and in strictest obedience of all localised lockdowns and 3 or 5 tiers and whatever illogic the powers that be can dream up next)

The Wales thread is actually quite funny in a sad kind of way

NastyBlouse · 24/10/2020 14:18

Ah ha, found you. Here’s to the Three Bellends (the pub, not the personages) Wine Gin

MissEWeatherwax · 24/10/2020 14:19

I saw some Harry Potter pjs in Tesco, the other day. Might buy some for my DD. Another one else confused by different light bulbs. My house now has about 4 different fittings. And the led bulb didn’t last!

WouldBeGood · 24/10/2020 14:27

@DominaShantotto giving up on life is what I thought when o saw the hooded blanket post 😂😂

TheOrchidKiller · 24/10/2020 14:37

Flowers for everyone today, especially those of you in Wales, NI, Scotland, an English tier 3, or just anyone.

Bought them from a supermarket whilst we still can.

Fork handles are non-essential. Dig your escape tunnel with your bare hands.

Just been reading an article on BBC Wales about policing the lockdown, which says:

"to limit demands on officers, a policing model they call "The Four Es" remains in place.

Before fines are issued to rule-breakers, police will first take a number of steps:

Engage with people to ask why they appear to be breaking the rules
Explain the law, stressing the risks to public health and the NHS
Encourage them to change their behaviour"

Can the police forces of Wales not count, or is one of the steps secret? Feel free to suggest what the missing step might be...

Bollss · 24/10/2020 14:46

I reckon the last one is execute them.

Orangeblossom7777 · 24/10/2020 14:48

Expel them?

But I'd be warm and it's bloody freezing in here today!
Life and credibility... or warmth?!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 24/10/2020 14:54

Warmth every time! I'm working from home indefinitely now (completely pissed off about it) and I'm dreading the heating bill as I'm putting the heating on all day now as I sit by the solid brick outside wall and I'm freezing!

Vintagelovingmum · 24/10/2020 14:58

Just wondering where it stops with wales, soon it will be advent calendars and then christmas presents because they're not seen as 'essential'
Strip life of every single happy moment!

Not sure if anybody has seen this?
DH said it was a firm no but I personally think it's a genius idea

TheOrchidKiller · 24/10/2020 15:07

@Vintagelovingmum
Just buy your DH one anyway!

Is the 4th "E" escape? Explode? Extradite? Eject?
Or is The 4 Es a secret reference to a rave?

Just leaving this here with the new lockdowns etc

TheOrchidKiller · 24/10/2020 15:17

@Orangeblossom7777
That chicken better not try to cross the road, then.

Vintagelovingmum · 24/10/2020 15:20

@TheOrchidKiller it was a request from me for a Christmas present. Spent a couple of years cosleeping and breastfeeding at night and winter it's alway difficult staying warm!
Do you think somebody in the Welsh police force can't spell Arrest?
Ooh just thought, could it be 'enforce the fine'

Evenstar · 24/10/2020 15:23

Don’t know if anyone has seen this, one man in Wales has made a stand of sorts against the ban on non essential purchases www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/supermarket-coronavirus-covid-fire-break-19159487

IwishIwasyoda · 24/10/2020 15:29

Am sat in holiday cottage in the lake district. Has done nothing but rain all day but at least:

  • it is not the same 4 four walls I'm usually staring at
  • I am not sat in another Teams meeting
  • I am not having to hear the daily nicola show - yadda, yadda - no christmas, no guising, 5 tiers of restrictions ...
  • I can drink wine at 3pm if I want to
TheOrchidKiller · 24/10/2020 15:31

@Vintagelovingmum
My thinking was if you bought your DH one he'd get to see how cosy it was & you could both wear his n hers ones.

Just leaving this here with the new lockdowns etc

should we change the name of the Ds then - after all it's great to be a chicken so there could be no complaint that we are insulting anyone.
Vintagelovingmum · 24/10/2020 15:40

@TheOrchidKiller ahhh, unfortunately he's a hot blooded one, just like dd1, she's almost 3 but spends most of her time half dressed running around the house, I'm the one who just layers up rather than switching the heating on.

Just been out to collect something and found some quinces somebody was giving away, does anybody know any good recipies please? Only 3 small ones but we do have some apples too so was thinking either a crumble or a jam

Orangeblossom7777 · 24/10/2020 16:10

I'm not very pro lockdown really, thought that different views were accepted on here but maybe things have changed? shame if we can't list without fear of 'upsetting people' with different views.

MercyBooth · 24/10/2020 16:11

@DominaShantotto Thank You Flowers

WouldBeGood · 24/10/2020 16:18

@DominaShantotto ok, fair enough. I’ve lived in freezing houses sll my life til now and had forgotten the horrors of being so cold at home. There is a lovely photo of me as a teenager wrapped in a huge blanket, wool socks, and a shawl on my head as I nearly cried with cold in my folks’ house 😳

WouldBeGood · 24/10/2020 16:18

And last time o stayed there I had to go to bed fully clothed with a hat and down jacket.
