(Socially distanced of course and in strictest obedience of all localised lockdowns and 3 or 5 tiers and whatever illogic the powers that be can dream up next)

Went on very unessential shopping trip to the big city centre today. Was lovely, but of quality time with DD. Waited longer to buy coffee from Pret than my DD spent in Primark!! And she bought clothes. I was still in queue outside waiting to get in. Ridiculous, but I bought her a female gingerbread person, so all good.

TheOrchidKiller · 25/10/2020 15:46

Been to a big local park with a large house perched on top of a hill. It's owned by the council, & apart from the masks inside, & the socially distanced queues, it was non-dementory & normal.

I'm in two minds though. It was very busy, & I'm not complaining about people making the most of going out. I was never one to dive into the bushes if someone wanted to walk past. But today there was much milling around & groups of people not keeping their distance from others. I felt a bit uneasy for the first time in ages, & I'm not sure why. Maybe it's what happens when you rarely see big groups anymore, & then you're confronted with dozens of people? Perhaps my perception has altered.

Otherwise, it's nice to be out. Bracing myself for the dark. The light here has already gone a bit spooky.

In response to the large hooded blanket which indicates I've given up on life... it's warm. I'm very plus size (more so than when this shit started) and it's still got a fair bit of snuggle room in for me and comes down to mid thigh. Just an Amazon cheapie - I was not paying Oodie prices.

Dreading tomorrow if we get tier 3ed.

justasking111 · 25/10/2020 16:35

Been out the neighbour really upset me. Not been out since Wednesday. Did a Lidl shop, saw a water melon, grandson loves those so bought one. Took it round to him. His dad is in such a grump and I thought you miserable sod of my loins, you get to go out to work so can drive anywhere whilst your wife and kids are completely stuck.

Which one was it, if you don’t mind me asking. I’d like to get one, my daughter has one which she loves and lives in when she’s not at work but I’m a lot bigger than her and was worried there won’t be enough snuggle room.
DominaShantotto · 25/10/2020 16:59

I can't remember - it was just one of the basic ones on Amazon.

Blobby10 · 25/10/2020 17:03

Does anyone remember how early in the days of track and trace some of us on the AD threads were wondering if it would be used maliciously? Well my daughter has become a victim! A lad who was in her shared house on Monday tested positive and has given daughters details to T and T. BUT she wasn’t in the same room as him for more than 5 minutes as she had to work and the room they shared is a massive kitchen and they were at opposite ends! Now she has to isolate for 14 days and it will screw up her internship, her work, her training and her elite sport participation 😡😡😡😡Bloody stupid system 😡😡😡

FFS Here comes tier 4 Because the Three Bellends dont want to say lockdown

littlbrowndog · 25/10/2020 17:18

I think us in Scotland will have 5 tiers on nov2nd. But not sure.

Have given up the will to understand it anymore and just ignoring them all

Was in Asda today getting stuff and it seems like everyone else has given up as well no distancing just getting on with shopping

I think we are weary with it I feel weary with it

Loads of people out on walks as well and stopping to chat to each other

So sorry blobby. That really sucks for your daughter so mean to do that to her

From the article
"A local circuit breaker would be similar to the isolated near-shutdown of all sectors in Leicester, one of the first places to go into local lockdown over the summer. This had some effect on bringing the outbreak under control, but cases began to rise again once restrictions were eased."

Bangs. Head. On. Table

justasking111 · 25/10/2020 17:25
@justasking111 it would be tier 4 in the Scottish plan, I think. Nuclear
Thank you, will look that up.

Apparently Wales is in tier 4, now what can they do to you in tier 5 that they have not already done, we only have essential shopping, can only exercise to and from home. Is tier 5 no exercise at all?
WouldBeGood · 25/10/2020 17:28

Oh, @justasking111 @littlbrowndog might be right.

It’s super confusing in Scotland as she’s numbered them 0-4 🙄

Evenstar · 25/10/2020 17:35

Just seen this, British Transport Police questioning people on trains and apparently there are police road blocks too. I can’t believe what this country has been reduced to.

@Livingthevidaloki
"Bangs. Head. On. Table"
I was going to say the same, with a brick wall instead of a table.

@justasking111
"is tier 5 no exercise at all?"
Tier 5 is when they send out that classic 1980s nuclear attack leaflet "Protect & Survive" & we all have to cross our fingers for a random number of days, chosen by the National Lottery ball machine, Guinevere. (I think the latest covid cases numbers should be announced by Voice of the Balls & Strictly, Alan Dedicoat. It would cheer things up a bit).

IAintentDead · 25/10/2020 17:46

It would certainly sound more authoritative if Dedicoat announced restrictions rather than um ahh bluster bluster blowjob and mealy mouthed wanksock

MercyBooth · 25/10/2020 17:52

Oh @Blobby10 thats shit.

TheOrchidKiller · 25/10/2020 17:53

"And now, going into Tier 3, dancing the fandango, it's Nottingham and its partner, Anton Du Beke!"

TheOrchidKiller · 25/10/2020 17:55

Or Ant & Dec could do the announcements.
"Coming out of restrictions this week....Leicester..............it's not you!"

littlbrowndog · 25/10/2020 17:58

They could. Do the announcements on strictly or the jungle.

Imagine the drum rolls.

Or could we vote as a nation 😂😂😂

AcornAutumn · 25/10/2020 18:03

Blobby he probably doesn’t think it was malicious. Did you see the thread about the woman whose details were passed on after a 15 minute stroll outdoors?

It’s literally made me stop having chats with neighbours - though I’ve explained to them why.

NeedWineNow · 25/10/2020 18:11

We've been up our local bar lunchtime. We saw friends. Everyone observed the rules when they needed to step away from their tables, and it felt so normal. People singing along to the jukebox. I had a tear. It was lovely.

TheOrchidKiller · 25/10/2020 18:16

"Or could we vote as a nation"
It could go either way with a public vote, though, with the risk it gets much worse! Some people might get confused and vote for Pudsey the performing dog, or for the chance to see their favourite Vicar of Dibley clip shown on TV instead, & quite frankly, I think we've suffered enough!

I've felt like that at times, was in a nearby town centre yesterday which was busy (I'd say busier than I've seen even pre covid). It was great to see from an economic view point but did feel a little uneasy from keeping a distance. We've got a 2 week half term and did most of our "trips" last week when I knew it would be quieter as suspect anything bookable will be manic this week
Evenstar · 25/10/2020 18:22

@TheOrchidKiller remember this poster! 😱 Hopefully Tier 5 won’t be implemented
