What do you serve your Toad in the Hole with?

I grew up having it with mash, veggies and gravy. Just mentioned to DH I'm cooking it with DS for dinner tonight, and he said the only way to serve it is with baked beans.

What's your go to sides for Toad in the Hole?

Beans is just unthinkable.

We always had baked beans (or spaghetti hoops- I hate baked beans), broccoli, then a sweetcorn, pea, carrot mix.

Green veg, carrots and gravy. More carbs is just weird imo!

White onion gravy, mash and peas or baked beans!

I don't do potatoes with it, the yorkshire pudding is the stodge (although I do potatoes with roast dinners and yorkshires, so my reasoning falls down there).
We just have it with gravy and green veg - green beans, peas or broccoli.
When I was little my Dad made toad in the hole with individual Yorkshires with a sausage sticking up in each but we make it in a big dish with the sausages lying down!

Dh has it with baked beans
5dc, 2 always have it with beans, the other 3 go either way. We all have mash.

Peas, Mash and onion gravy. I also add stuffing balls with the sausages and cook them in the batter.

Baked beans or spicy red cabbage and mash with both options.

Thank god for this thread!! Growing up it was with mash and beans, or mash, peas and loads of ketchup however in my 20s I had it round a friends where she served it with mash, veg, gravy and leeks in cheese sauce - game changer, thats the only way I serve it now!
