FFS Stollen Bites are back and I cannot stop eating them! What's your christmas food downfall?

Why did I buy them? WHY?
Little bites of deliciousness. Already out in the shops in October and now in my cupboard. And soon to be excess weight on my scales.
Sigh.
They are addictive, it's not my fault.
They fell into my basket.
I suspect it will happen multiple times between now and Christmas.

On top of everything else, now the stollen bites are going to make me fat. (Because it has nothing to do with me).

Which Christmas treat is your downfall?

Dark chocolate Terry's Chocolate Orange and pigs in blanket flavoured everything Blush DP and I ate eight Yule Logs in December last year as well, annoyingly they only come out a few weeks before Christmas!

PhryneP · 18/10/2020 20:14

Chocolates. Will put off buying them as long as possible.

PhryneP · 18/10/2020 20:15

I remember eating a whole large packet of peanuts in a crispy pigs in blanket flavour shell last year in one go

Perro · 18/10/2020 20:16

Cherry liqueur chocolates from M&S 🍒

WarmSausageTea · 18/10/2020 20:19

If the Orange Twist Toblerone makes a comeback for Christmas, that will be my downfall. So good.

CoffeeChocolateGin · 18/10/2020 20:28

OMG I love stollen!
I let myself buy ALL THE CHEESE at Christmas. Mmmmmm baked Camembert!

Cherrypi · 18/10/2020 20:41

Christmas fudge. Mince pie fudge on particular. Lidl/Aldi originally now Asda do it too.

Mrsjayy · 18/10/2020 20:46

I saw tins of peanuts on Friday and was excited .Grin

Spam88 · 18/10/2020 20:49

@Whathappenedtothelego the internet tells me Wilko are also selling it in store, if that's any better?

fluffi · 18/10/2020 20:49

Homemade brandy butter ... much higher alcohol content than in the shops ... but utterly delicious! Can eat on its own!

Also those large tubs of chocolates - can polish one off in the day Blush

pollywollydoodler · 18/10/2020 20:52

@Spam88
OMG that might propel me past Aldi stollen (not even bites), lebekuchen, florentines, hot chocolate and all the other German loveliness...

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 18/10/2020 20:53

Icing topped mince pies. Holy fuck. Worth every roll of lard they’ll add to my already bloated frame

Lubeylube · 18/10/2020 20:55

Aldi sloe Gin mince pies. Delicious!

Pashazade · 18/10/2020 20:55

Hotel Chocolat now do a chocolate cream liqueur. It is very very nice. Also Baileys in hot chocolate......

Whatatoodoodle · 18/10/2020 20:56

Pannetone is my downfall. So easy to keep ‘tidying it up’
I don’t like stollen thankfully!

Dailyhandtowelwash · 18/10/2020 21:02

All the canapés that Waitrose and M&S do. Mini beige food!

Mrsjayy · 18/10/2020 21:07

Oh mini biege food Smile

Chicchicchicchiclana · 18/10/2020 21:08

Twiglets. Twiglets are like crack cocaine to me, I honestly cannot stop. Even the stupid tiny ones you get nowadays.

Yogawithmydog · 18/10/2020 21:15

DH is a monster for mince pies. A packet of 6 can be gone before I've even unpacked the shopping.

I love cheese straws, cheese boards, shortbread, I know they are available all year round but I let myself indulge in them far more in December.

Also love that massive cranberry pork pie thing that M&S have done the last few years. Reading the M&S Christmas food brochure is likely to be the highlight of my November this year!

Fruitshootloop · 18/10/2020 21:27

Celebrations. Snickers first, then the Malteasers and Galaxys. Then the Milky Ways and Twixs, finally the Mars Bars. I let my husband eat the Bountys (and nothing else).

EssentialHummus · 18/10/2020 21:30

Really sugary Yule Logs. Ideally Sainsbury’s. I was bereft last January through about March after they stopped selling them.

viques · 18/10/2020 21:32

Someone told me last year that they had bought baileys fondant fancies. I looked and searched for them but no joy.

Hope they come back this year........

Rainbowb · 18/10/2020 21:32

Not technically Christmas food but party food maybe - just tried the Doritos Stax Mexican Chilli Salsa and I am officially on a food high. They are divine!

Shodan · 18/10/2020 21:39

Ohhh I forgot the Christmas tubes of Fruit Pastilles Blush

Everyone knows I love them and as my birthday is in November the avalanche starts then. I have no willpower whatsoever around those.

PastelPompoms · 18/10/2020 21:39

Where did you get your stollen bites?
