What gestation did your first baby come?

Totally unscientific research but - what day of gestation did your first baby come? And if it wasn’t spontaneous (planned Caesarian, induction etc) why was that?

Just curious really, at week 36 awaiting number one Smile

@ImperfectAlf intrigued they let you go to 43+4, how was that? Were they doing lots of monitoring at the end?

DD1 - 40+5
DD2 - 40+2

Both spontaneous labours. No sweeps or anything.

ImperfectAlf · 18/10/2020 11:30

@BuffaloCauliflower my cycle is 32 days, rather than the 28 days they base calculations on. Plus, they had me monitored. I really, really didn't want an induction.😁 And , to br fair, this was in the late '80s , . As you know, the past is another country.

BuffaloCauliflower · 18/10/2020 11:39

@ImperfectAlf ah that’s good to know, I did wonder if it was a while ago. I really don’t want an induction if I can avoid it too, fingers crossed. There would need to be a really good reason. I have text book 28 day cycles though, and my EDD is 5 days ahead of my cycle EDD based on scan measurements, so will be interesting to see if that makes any difference.

@BuffaloCauliflower
Things are so much better now. We had much less monitoring during the pregnancy. I'm sure you'll be properly cared for. 😊.

Congratulations, by the way

CormoranStrike · 18/10/2020 11:48

41+1 for both of mine, not twins, just to identical pregnancies.

*two

MagpieSong · 18/10/2020 12:03

2 days after the due dates so 40+2. Spontaneous labour with a very fast delivery and accidental (but much wanted) home birth.

MaddeningtheUnhelpful · 18/10/2020 12:06

42+1 induced. Otherwise I'm pretty sure I'd still be pregnant Grin
