What gestation did your first baby come?

Totally unscientific research but - what day of gestation did your first baby come? And if it wasn’t spontaneous (planned Caesarian, induction etc) why was that?

Just curious really, at week 36 awaiting number one Smile

OP posts:

Induced at 39+3 due to being small. Arrived at bang on 40 weeks.
Desperately hoping this one, due next month, will arrive with no induction.

mintich · 17/10/2020 23:17

42+1, started induction 4 days earlier

ImperfectAlf · 17/10/2020 23:18

DC1....42+6
DC2....43+4 (they threatened cesarian, which seemed to encourage him along😁)

Couldn't face another one

40+3 labour, 40+4 birth.
Good luck OP! Thanks

Dmtush · 17/10/2020 23:19

My eldest was 41+6, he took his time because he had his arm above his head. I went into labour 12 hours after my waters broke spontaneously, I’m glad I refused induction!

My other two were 40+2 and 40+3, far more sensible.

PepperMooMoo · 17/10/2020 23:21

I went into labour at 37+5 Born at 38 weeks exactly!

marauder1994 · 17/10/2020 23:21

Was induced 37+5 at 10pm with the pessary for reduced movements
Waters broke 11:45am 37+6

Had him 02:07am at 38 weeks exactly :)

MotherPiglet · 17/10/2020 23:23

38 weeks spontaneously

Haybo26 · 17/10/2020 23:25

Born on the day he was due...

Rollergirl11 · 17/10/2020 23:26

Waters broke at 34 weeks. Spent a week in hospital waiting to go in to labour spontaneously, which didn’t happen so was induced at 35 weeks.

PickAChew · 17/10/2020 23:27

42+2

He's still fucking stubborn.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 17/10/2020 23:29

ELCS at 39+3. DS was in a very weird breech position and I was SO uncomfortable.

awaynbileyerheed · 17/10/2020 23:30

Went into spontaneous labour at 39+2 and had baby delivered 3hrs later by c-section as was due to have an elective on my due date anyway (through choice).

Thepilotlightsgoneout · 17/10/2020 23:31

39+6 spontaneous.

How many times was I told first babies are late Hmm

Hellohah · 17/10/2020 23:36

I was induced at 41+4 and ended up with an emergency C Section.

FlurkenSchnit · 17/10/2020 23:42

Went into slow labour at 39+6, finally had him at 40+1 after around 10 hours of actual labour.
Thankfully subsequent labours were much quicker!

MintChocAddict · 17/10/2020 23:42

33+6
41+5
Confused

PenguinBarnotBird · 17/10/2020 23:45

41+4

Saisong · 17/10/2020 23:49

Baby1: 37+2 PROM. 48 hrs given to await spontaneous labour at home then brought in for induction.
Baby2: Spontaneous labour bang on due date and short (5hr) labour with home birth.

ProseccoLush · 18/10/2020 00:19

DD 28 + 3 emergency section due to severe pre-eclampsia

DS 42 + 2 induced and 3 day labour before forceps delivery

So one didn’t want to stay in and the other had to be dragged out. Pretty much as their personalities are now Grin

elliejjtiny · 18/10/2020 00:24

41+4 spontaneous.

jenn88 · 18/10/2020 00:34

36+5 spontaneous

firesong · 18/10/2020 01:17

First was 40 exactly (went into labour about two days before that though)
Second was 38 +4 I think

Ploughingthrough · 18/10/2020 04:48

40+1 for DD, spontaneous. I thought she was going to come on her due date but she was a slow one!

39+6 for second baby so they averaged out as on time!

PolarBearStrength · 18/10/2020 04:53

41+1 which I’m pretty sure is bang on average for a first baby.

Currently 37+6 and hoping DC2 is a bit more keen.
