I can't do thrown-together meals. Something in my brain can't process ingredients into meals without a recipe.

So in that situation I'd be ringing for a pizza

Cheese omelettes, the neighbours have chickens so I can pop and grab 6 eggs for £1 from their little stand and it'll be a cold day in hell when we have no cheese in the house.

Anotheruser02 · 14/10/2020 18:06

Just items, whether they're 'a meal' or not. It's not very often, it doesn't hurt to have cheese cubes, a satsuma and a pile of toast and jam or toast and marmite one day.
It probably make us appreciate the meals more when I've done a shop.

cretelover · 14/10/2020 18:07

@NastyBlouse I'm exactly the same!

SonjaMorgan · 14/10/2020 18:10

Spaghetti in garlic butter with some parmesan on top. It Is nice with garden peas or mushrooms too.

Veg soup made from a few potatoes and any odd veg that needs using.

Sushi rice with a fried egg on top and a little soy sauce. We eat this a few times a week as a side but I love it on its own.

Ramen noodles with kimchi.

Poached egg on toast.

Bloodylovecheese · 14/10/2020 18:11

Tonights meal is penne pasta, a jar of chilli pasta sauce and grated cheese on top. Job done...can't be arsed to go shops

LIZS · 14/10/2020 18:12

devildeepbluesea · 14/10/2020 18:13

Pasta with olive oil and grated cheese

Jacket spud with tuna / beans / cheese

Beans on toast

I've just had a toasted bagel with poached eggs, spinach that was on the turn, hollandaise and pine nuts.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 14/10/2020 18:13

Courgette fried in olive oil with some red chilli and (if available) some cooked, cubed, black pudding. Stir into cooked pasta.

Noodles in chicken stock with some green stuff stirred in (preferably spinach leaves, but whatever there is) and topped with sliced, fried tofu, a poached/fried egg or left-over chicken.

Omelette or french toast.

LovelyBranches · 14/10/2020 18:13

I nearly always have tins of salmon and tins of ravioli in my cupboard. I will happily eat either if there’s not much in or I can’t be bothered to cook.

I usually have chorizo in, I fry off some frozen onions, add some frozen peppers, add in a tin of chickpeas, chorizo and tinned tomatoes and season with paprika.
