...what would you ask for?

I am unimaginative and lucky to not need anything. Please help!

Books. There are a few I'm putting on my Christmas list, including Graham Norton's new novel.

KindergartenKop · 13/10/2020 20:59

What's your favourite book?

It is my birthday soon, and I have no idea what I want. I love books, but I wouldn't know what book I wanted that I don't already have. I would need to go and stand in Waterstones and browse until I found something I wanted.

ShatnersBaboon · 13/10/2020 21:15

@KindergartenKop

What's your favourite book?
The Grapes of Wrath, I think. I might give a different answer on a different day though Smile
TheShoesa · 13/10/2020 21:16

Nice wine/ perfume/ bath or shower smellies that I wouldn't buy for myself but would like to have.

I had mentioned a quirky piece of jewellery to ds a few months back so was touched when he produced that on my birthday this month.

I was also given 'The Rules of Contagion' which is an interesting read so far.

icedaisy · 13/10/2020 21:17

A really cosy dressing gown or an Oodie after reading about them on here

Notsurewhatsgoingon · 13/10/2020 21:18

John Grishams new book that came out today.
A new coat.
Perfume.
An expensive lamp shade I want but can't justify buying (sounds boring but it's beautiful).

Frappuccinofan · 13/10/2020 21:19

Whatever your interests are, there’s a lot of nice gift sets and advent calendars floating around - I’m having fun just window shopping on Selfridges website!

There’s nothing I particularly want but I’d be happy with my favourite perfume or a gift card.

Gizlotsmum · 13/10/2020 21:20

Books, I have crochet /Cross stitch kits, various craft kits, jewellery...

Drbrowns · 13/10/2020 21:22

It’s my birthday tomorrow. I asked for a sonic toothbrush

MutteringDarkly · 13/10/2020 21:25

A new laundry basket (I know how to live), an embroidery kit for a table runner, my favourite face wash, running kit of some kind...that's my list so far Grin

Jfw82 · 13/10/2020 21:28

Nice face stuff - have a lot more time to do moisturising and full care routine with no going out anywhere
Perfume, cashmere socks (can't justify buying myself), expensive candles...

Hubcapdiamondstarhalo · 13/10/2020 21:32

It's mine in a couple of weeks and I think I'll be getting a new phone as I need one. Just examining options at the moment. Otherwise I'd be asking for one of the new release cookery books, or Molton Brown's eucalyptus body wash, which is my favourite, or Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede perfume, or a Winter scented candle from White Company for the Christmas season.
I usually treat myself to an M&S advent calendar as they come on sale around then. I will only have one gift and the rest will be put on the Christmas wish list for anyone who asks.

Notsurewhatsgoingon · 13/10/2020 21:33

@Drbrowns happy birthday for tomorrow.

Michaelbaubles · 13/10/2020 21:36

Wine, gin or chocolate always. Or champagne.

A full-length but lightweight not fleecy dressing gown (light knee length one too cold, long fleecy one too hot, desperately seeking middle ground).

Brown or black leather gloves.

Piano books (I think I’ll have to get these myself though).

Proper warm day socks.

A knee length raincoat.

And did I mention wine?

ScrapThatThen · 13/10/2020 21:38

On my list is an Anthropologie mug like this photo.
Rapanui organic knitted jumper in mustard like photo but probably not because too expensive
Book - Amanda Craig the lie of the land
Rosehip moisturiser
Burt's bees lip crayon
Pilgrim jewellery

LajesticVantrashell · 13/10/2020 21:41

The new Matt Haig book
PJ bottoms
A bottle of Siblings gin
Jo Malone candle
A Neom room diffuser thing
A desk lamp

earthycarrots · 13/10/2020 21:43

It's is soon, I'm getting a vintage bird food storage bucket.

DelphineWalsh · 13/10/2020 21:46

A haircut
Chunky knit oversized cardigan
Poptarts

Iliketeaagain · 13/10/2020 21:47

It is soon - I've asked for an Apple Pencil. Mainly because I don't have one, and I love a little gadget.

Likely to get some other weird random present that DH thinks I would like (even though he asked me what I wanted and I specifically said an Apple Pencil) and buy myself an Apple Pencil afterwards.

beela · 13/10/2020 21:52

It's my birthday soon. I genuinely don't want anything. I usually ask for fancy bubble bath when I can't think of anything, but I haven't even used the posh stuff from Christmas yet.

Soubriquet · 13/10/2020 21:54

It’s my birthmas (birthday near Christmas) soon, and I’m asking for a decent pair of trainers.

I usually only have a pair costing £20 or £30 but this time I want ones that are better for my feet as I’m on them for a while during work and I’m starting to suffer from plantar fasciitis

InspiredbyMoomins · 13/10/2020 21:55

Mine next month and I’ve asked for Jo Malone scented candles, books, a lovely warm blanket and some earrings.

DratThatCat · 13/10/2020 22:03

Its also mine soon and I've got quite a few books on my amazon wish list, a silicone spatula, trainers, a booband, a kimono from Annie's Closet, and subscription boxes (just the one, not a years subscription) from reposed and look fantastic. Ive took an interest in bees this year so I've also asked for The Bee Book by DK and a bee hotel.
