...what would you ask for?

I am unimaginative and lucky to not need anything. Please help!

@BusterGonad what's your favourite shop?

BusterGonad · 16/10/2020 06:08

Well, it was Oasis and now its Joanie. I live an Asia so I get an outside company to order and I pay on delivery, hopefully they fit as I can't return them!

BusterGonad · 16/10/2020 06:09

Oh and I've ordered a pair of Carvela boots for my Christmas present.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 16/10/2020 07:14

A hedgehog house

Ragwort · 16/10/2020 07:24

I've asked for the same present for years & never received it .... I would just love for someone (DH) to take my car and get it valeted .... I know I could do it myself but I just don't want to have to think about organising it. Out of the blue my DH has just said 'I'll get your car valeted tomorrow' Smile ... it's not my birthday!

I am the age where I really don't want or need anything else in my life so something like an 'experience' - car valet or spa treatment is much better than any physical gift ... I also love charity 'goat' gifts although I know they are deeply unpopular on Mumsnet.

I live on my own so no one really remembers (well friends do sometimes) so I tend to get myself something (normally make up - I might treat myself to a Dior lipstick. They have more of the pinkie reds that I like than most do).

BusterGonad · 16/10/2020 13:37

DeathRay You can't beat a new luxurious lipstick as a treat. I've treated myself to dresses for my birthday as I've purchased about 7 Estee Lauder lipsticks this month... All heavily reduced in price mind you!

wendz86 · 16/10/2020 14:59

My birthday is soon and I have asked for boots, pyjamas, a new bag, books, hamilton CD for my car, Socks, clothes vouchers.

MsEllany · 16/10/2020 15:04

It was my birthday on the 1st.

I asked for Glossier skincare stuff that I’m too tight to buy for myself, some earrings, Lush soap (again - too tight!).

I don’t need or want anything particularly, as I buy books that I like when I want them, so I ask for the upgrades to stuff I already have or use normally.

MsEllany · 16/10/2020 15:04

I have ordered Oodies for my kids for Christmas though, I think they’ll love them!

MmeCamenbert · 16/10/2020 15:18

CamdenLurker · 16/10/2020 15:29

Etsy vouchers are an excellent idea.
MmeCamenbert · 20/10/2020 21:01

@footprintsintheslow I get Etsy vouchers for every birthday and Christmas then have a huge spend on beautiful handmade treasures that I could never normally justify buying!

Meepmeeep · 20/10/2020 21:08

A Prada bag.

JoJoSM2 · 21/10/2020 12:45

I like surprises best so it’s never quite the same when I choose my own present. The things that put a smile on my face are generally pampering things like a voucher for a facial, a fluffy dressing gown, bubble bath etc.

VenusClapTrap · 21/10/2020 12:54

Best present I’ve received in years was my Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser.
