Teachers know what's happening but can't tell us

As members of the elite teachers are automatically told things by the government and instructed not to tell us little, marginalised folk.

They probably have secret briefings. Either that or elite champagne cocktail parties where they network with each other and exchange information about what the next lockdown rules will be.

The only reason ordinary people don't know exactly what is going to happen with lockdown rules tomorrow, next week, next month is that we are considered too lowly to be told.

I'm going to keep on starting threads until someone spills the beans and admits that they know there's going to be an October lock down.

I’d tell you, but then I’d have to kill you.

EvaHoffman · 07/10/2020 20:18

DellaDoo I find it really strange that a school could tell anybody for sure that they were going to close. Schools really DO NOT get different information to anybody else. Honestly, they really don't.

Candyfloss99 · 07/10/2020 20:18

We know everything.

Keratinsmooth · 07/10/2020 20:18

I’m an elite teacher, you are right. Lockdown 2nd week will be the week after half term, announcement on 22/10. Private schools will be off for 3 weeks as a result, thus protecting further the elite children.

Audreyseyebrows · 07/10/2020 20:18

Also teachers, like nurses can’t catch Covid so it’s ok.

Mmn654123 · 07/10/2020 20:19

@EvaHoffman
See how we posted at exactly the same time there? We can do that. We’re that good.

Rachellow · 07/10/2020 20:19

I teach Y2. If my class bubble has to go into self isolation I don't even get told which child has COVID due to GDPR. I know nothing about October.

ittooshallpass · 07/10/2020 20:20

Hilarious! Teachers find out about the latest rules at the same time and way as everyone else - on the news!

NandosPeriometer · 07/10/2020 20:21

If teachers knew don't you think they'd contact the media and tried to get paid for that info?
Don't you think the teaching unions would have leaked the info to get one over the government?

bananaskinsnomnom · 07/10/2020 20:22

I want to go to this secret teacher elite club house with champagne and inside information.....why haven’t I been invited? Clearly my class just aren’t doing well enough....

noideaatallreally · 07/10/2020 20:23

Teachers - not even my HT - knew that the March lockdown was happening until it appeared on a BBC newsflash. I know this because it was on my phone and I told my HT. He turned white. He was also an idiot because I, like any one else with a modicum of common sense, could see it coming given rapidly dropping attendance rates.

All teachers are also in the masons and the illuminati. Shhhhhh!

In real life I didn't even know the photocopier code for the second and third subjects I taught.

NerrSnerr · 07/10/2020 20:24

If teachers knew don't you think they'd contact the media and tried to get paid for that info?

They'll stop being invited to elite cocktail party staff room at lunchtime and have to go back to the instant coffee staff room and that's no fun.

ktp100 · 07/10/2020 20:24

Oh FFS, if this is a joke it's a pretty shit one!

Minimumstandard · 07/10/2020 20:25

Yes, teachers are definitely the elite. They're the ones living in all the expensive mansions round here. Greedy bastards! Quaffing champagne off the back of our tax money.

Bring on the revolution! Let's expel those teachers from their expensive housing, take over their swimming-pools and make them live in social housing or tiny newbuild properties like the rest of us....Oh wait, they already do?

You're probably right on the end October lockdown, though.

CruzControl · 07/10/2020 20:25

@NerrSnerr

It's a worry that so many people couldn't tell the OP was joking.

So many people spectacularly missing the joke. If you need it spelling out the OP is taking the piss because of the hundreds of threads asking if the schools are shutting over half term etc. It must have been a long day for many of you.

There are so many idiots on here that you have to assume people aren't joking unfortunately.
NerrSnerr · 07/10/2020 20:25

@ktp100 the OP is taking the piss out of the hundreds of threads asking if there's going to be an October lockdown as if anyone on Mumsnet, teacher or not would know.

Hoppyhops · 07/10/2020 20:27

Hahaha- if only! In March, my Head of Department only found out the schools were closing because her year 11s had a sky news alert on their phone. Madness. I’ll take the cocktails though, please!

Effic · 07/10/2020 20:28

shhhhh.... do not tell them about that secret weekly zoom call! The one where Boris tells us all what’s going to happen next..... the peasant will all want one. Grin

iklboo · 07/10/2020 20:28

I'm scared people don't realise teachers are actually part of the Matrix and plug in every night for an information download. That's why most have them have buttons on their clothes. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!

ChloeDecker · 07/10/2020 20:29

I missed the elite teacher champagne cocktail parties the most during lockdown.
Had to settle for boxed wine at home instead. Oh the humanity!

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 07/10/2020 20:29

@DailyLotion

Teachers have obviously been failing abysmally for decades, judging by the number who didn't see this thread for what it is Grin

nostaples · 07/10/2020 20:30

Elite champagne cocktail parties for networking are definitely, definitely the way forward.

samosamimosa · 07/10/2020 20:31

@EvaHoffman

Don't tell the little folk samosa I'm hoping to make it to my country pile without too many oiks cluttering up the motorway.
See you there, I assume grouse shooting will be available this weekend as normal?
stayingaliveisawayoflife · 07/10/2020 20:34

All I know is that things must be secretly back to normal as I have three learning walks booked before Christmas so bubbles will be bursting all over the place!

ArtieFufkinPolymerRecords · 07/10/2020 20:34

I can't believe some posters have taken your post seriously.
