For love nor money cannot find kitchen hand towels

Do they still exist? Went to Dunelm and various large supermarkets - they only seem to sell tea towels.

Did kitchen hand towels stop being a 'thing'? How do people dry their hands?

I ended up buying a bathroom hand towel, but it's far too big for kitchen use really.

Please could someone direct me to some online? I've been searching half an hour and feel like I'm cracking up!

Funnily enough I just ordered some today off Amazon. They seem to be a rarity these days, it’s the only place I’ve found them.

CompleteBarstool · 04/10/2020 21:14

Try searching for Guest Towel as I think they're smaller than a hand towel

Bikingbear · 04/10/2020 21:16

I use bathroom hand towels.

I've never really heard of hand towels being specifically sold as kitchen towels.

PickAChew · 04/10/2020 21:17

You could try a guest towel. I use them instead of hand towels, anyway. Take up. Less space on the towel rail and in the wash.

dimdarkashian · 04/10/2020 21:17

Terry tea towels??

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 04/10/2020 21:18

Huh?

carolebaskinfedhimtothetigers · 04/10/2020 21:18

I never realised there was a difference between kitchen ones and bathroom ones! Was just about to say I bought a few in Tesco last week but maybe they were actually bathroom ones??

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 04/10/2020 21:19

Do you mean like this?

They are available everywhere.

I get mine from Asda

PickAChew · 04/10/2020 21:20

Though markses do some. I actually ordered these then returned them, a while back, as the description was wrong, at the time. www.marksandspencer.com/set-of-3-assorted-hand-towels/p/hbp22468406

DobbyTheHouseElk · 04/10/2020 21:20

I use hand towels. Didn’t know there were special kitchen ones.

Seeline · 04/10/2020 21:21

I've been looking for about 5 years! Mine are over 20years old and getting very thin now. I agree bathroom ones are far too big.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/10/2020 21:23

We use guest towels.

Winter2019 · 04/10/2020 21:24

I just use tea towels for drying my hands in the kitchen 🤷‍♀️

EmmaGrundyForPM · 04/10/2020 21:24

I bought some on Amazon, I think they were called "guest" towels. Much smaller than bathroom hand towels

TinyGarden · 04/10/2020 21:24

Thanks all. I always thought hand towels were always fluffier that tea towels. I seem to have a load from years ago that are the same size as tea towels just fluffier. Do people usually just dry their hands on tea towels?

I'll google guest towels thanks and see if that's what I have in my head!

Thanks yes those look like hand towels (are thick) but interesting they've named them tea towels...

I also use bathroom hand towels, but guest towels are smaller and possibly an easier thing to find.

But I do find it strange to go to other people's houses and see them dry their hands on a tea towel. I have 2 hooks, one for the tea towel and one for the hand towel.

thedevilinablackdress · 04/10/2020 21:26

These from H&M are good

mnahmnah · 04/10/2020 21:26

I’m with you OP. A bathroom hand towel would look odd in a kitchen. Kitchen hand towels are different to them and tea towels. I found one in B&M that I think is probably a bathroom towel but is brighter, with a patterned trim, so passes ok in the kitchen.

Ah, glad it's not just me! Mine are probably also 20 years old...

Odd, but Hema, the Dutch shop a bit like Tiger is very into kitchen hand towels: www.hema.com/en-gb/cooking-dining/kitchen-cookware/kitchen-textiles

DobbyTheHouseElk · 04/10/2020 21:27

How are they too big? My hands are the same size in the kitchen and the bathroom.

museumum · 04/10/2020 21:29

I just bought the smallest towels in dunelm. They’re the size of tea towels. No idea what they called them.

copperoliver · 04/10/2020 21:29

Guest towels are smaller than hand towels. I buy mine from M&S £3:50 each. X
