What would you like for Christmas?

I know, I know but for various reasons I'm having to buy Christmas presents sooner rather than later. As part of this, I need to work out what I want for Christmas - except I'm a bit stumped. Normally, I'd ask for vouchers for DH and I to spend time doing things together for thanks to the pandemic this is somewhat out.

So, in the hopes of gaining inspiration, what would you like for Christmas?

Cheesy maybe..,enthusiastic help with all things xmas - low key preferably.

ILoveAnOwl · 04/10/2020 23:29

Anything from 'Turtle Doves'.

MinnieAnonyMouse · 04/10/2020 23:32

Loobielou, I really hope you get your wish!

Thanks everyone for your lists - some gorgeous ideas and I'm really enjoying seeing what people actually want (seems to be most of us want comfort!)

Pyjamas
Bubble bath
A book
Some slippers

AestheticWitch · 05/10/2020 09:20

A Garmin watch, have my eye on the Venu. It is pricey so I've been saving Nectar points toward it!

JuiceyBetty · 05/10/2020 10:14

I really want an Oodie. I’ve got the amazon version which is fine but keep feeling I’m missing out on something special!

bigcatlittlecatcardboardbox · 05/10/2020 10:21

DH and I don't do Christmas or birthday presents for each other but I'd love him to surprise me with a vintage Cartier watch. Black leather strap, classic face. I'm probably too old for the manky Casio I've been wearing for ten years now Grin

I'll be buying myself some Anthropologie bedding, and maybe an agate cheeseboard.

PointeShoesandTutus · 05/10/2020 10:31

Cashmere socks.
Sweaty Betty hoodie - I have one from there I got maybe 6 years ago and it’s only just starting to look tired, but they’re so expensive!
Neom candles.
Terrys chocolate orange.
Ruby earrings.

nosswith · 05/10/2020 10:52

What books would be appreciated?

mam0918 · 05/10/2020 11:10

top of my list for several years is a nice proper 4k gopro (not chinese rubbish or a kids one) but they're expensive so I wouldnt ask someone else to buy it

I always struggle with this because everything I know about and want thats affordible I will/do buy myself which means the only things I 'want' are expensive and not something I would feel right asking others for... Im not generally into 'luxuary' items (like soap, jewellery, candles, clothes) Im quite happy with standard cheap stuff for most thing

the best gifts I have ever gotton where complete suprises (things I didnt know existed so couldnt have bought myself) I love something thoughtfully picked out that I never could have predicted

FraughtwithGin · 05/10/2020 11:17

An intact house where everything works
A new car
A job
Big lottery win
Holiday somewhere hot and sunny (or luxury skiing, not fussy)

Latenightreader · 05/10/2020 12:16

Really good earphones that won't die if I fall asleep with them in and roll over (do they exist?)

A loft ladder, loft boards and shelves. I almost don't mind paying for it, but I would like someone to do the research, get quotes etc.

Better sleep for my toddler so I get guaranteed evenings and can plan socialising (even online)

A job (or inspiration to change career) - mine goes in November and my industry is decimated.

ErrmWTAF · 05/10/2020 12:22

All my jewellery [that I had to pawn, after leaving FAEA-Ex] back.

ErrmWTAF · 05/10/2020 12:24

Financial/Emotional Abuse Ex. Sorry about my crap phone

CloudyVanilla · 05/10/2020 13:11

I would like:

  • Perfume - Vera Wang princess or Guerlain Little Black Dress
  • A big cuddly teddy hottie (where you put the oat bag in the microwave and it makes it all warm and snuggly)
  • Big fuzzy socks for while I'm working at home downstairs
  • A lush bath bomb set
  • A Harry Potter Lego set

I don't need good because I do the Christmas Food shopping so I'll be getting everything I like already Halo

CloudyVanilla · 05/10/2020 13:11

Food*

CloudyVanilla · 05/10/2020 13:12

Oh and I'd like one of those knitted mermaid tail blankets! Also for using while WFH

Lyricallie · 05/10/2020 13:15

I've asked for a new jumper - not a Christmas one.
Some diffuser refills I really like the Shearer's candles ones. Nice and citrusy.
I like the sleepy time spray from lush.
Then I'm in the process of buying my first house so maybe some tins of paint haha.

timeforawine · 05/10/2020 13:15

Tesco salted caramel liqueur
malteasers
curry's vouchers towards the new Iphone whenever it comes out

Bluesheep8 · 05/10/2020 13:35

The main thing I want for Christmas is to be able to spend it with myfamily.Asthings stand just now(Scotland) we can't have anyone out with our household inside our house.I don't care if I get any presents ,I just want to spend Christmas with my family like we usually do.

Snap.

Bluesheep8 · 05/10/2020 13:36

And I'm really surprised that there aren't more posters saying the same.

timeforawine · 05/10/2020 13:42

@loubieloo4 I REALLY hope you get your wish Flowers

mam0918 · 05/10/2020 16:26

@Bluesheep8

because not everyone does xmas like that so not something to want/wish for... our christmas is no different to normal

we always spend it as an isolated family unit - I honestly cant think of anything I would hate more than either having to leave my houses on xmas day or having to host people

we usually see my parents on xmas eve and DH in the week after xmas, usually not even for that long because everyone is either busy or tired

JimandPam · 05/10/2020 19:26

@Bluesheep8

I think without exception every poster on here wishes to spend Christmas with loved ones and be able to give them a hug.

But it's clear the question was about presents...

I've got loads of great ideas from here so thanks all! It's also a big birthday for me just after Xmas so I have an expensive list..

-L'Occitane overnight serum
-Apple series 6 watch
-New fridge freezer (yawn but desperately needed!)
-Cake decorating course (post covid)
-Russian Rings necklace
-Chanel Allure perfume
-Silver photo frame
-Liberty make up bag
-Osprey new purse

I don't want for much 😆

AestheticWitch · 05/10/2020 20:55

I think the something special is a lot less money in your purse judging by the cost! Grin
