A few months ago it was Boris now it is Trumps turn to be possibly very ill. I hope he is ok. Such a frightening time for americans.

Pence is terrible. Look what he did to lgbtq when he was a governor of his state.

Janegrey333 · 03/10/2020 00:23

The man is a megalomaniac but this is a foul virus and I hope he recovers. I wouldn’t wish death on anyone. Earlier today plenty - including me - were saying he was telling his bigliest lies yet again.

MouseholeCat · 03/10/2020 00:29

Really interested to hear your justification for that @Hoglet70? Because from where I am sitting in a red Midwestern state, he really hasn't. It's the elite white men he's helping.

The vast majority of his "achievements" have been around reducing regulation, which benefits corporates and not the middle class. His tax code changes were total smoke and mirrors which, again, massively benefitted top earners and corporations. The farmers in our state have hugely struggled as a result of his insane tariff wars, and manufacturing jobs haven't grown.

I think Trump is completely unaware of his shortcomings. He thought he performed brilliantly in the debate, thinks he deserves to win the election, believes he is surrounded by idiots. I don’t think he would think it necessary to invent this.
Like Boris, his trip to hospital is probably precautionary. But his symptoms must be severe enough to raise some concern.
Sadly, he now has the chance to sell himself as being able to beat a disease. “I made the best recovery doctors have ever seen”

BigChocFrenzy · 03/10/2020 00:31

@PicsInRed

He looked unwell walking across the lawn.

He does. Walking across the lawn, he doesn't look himself - a lot of effort went into that and it's telling that in addition to no words from president, his walk to the helicopter did not go out live.

This is not a great moment for western international security. It's a very weak moment for us all in the West and we need stability restored to the US asap.

... The best way to restore the Western Alliance is for Trump to go before he smashes it

@Cantbreathe2020

"Out of an abundance of caution, and at the recommendation of his physician and medical experts, the president will be working from the presidential offices at Walter Reed for the next few days. "

Working out of presidential offices in a hospital after having taken his private helicopter, is hardly the same as being airlifted to hospital!!!

So dramatic Hmm

I seem to remember Boris was taken to hospital ' as a precaution' and it was all played down but he was in ICU the next day. In the end he recovered fine but he was obviously quite ill at the time and the official line was to play it down. It is very possible they are doing the same for Trump. He is in his 70s and 15-20% of that age group end up hospitalised with Covid. He is also a man and overweight so his chances are even higher of being quite ill. His chances of being fine are of course still pretty high but the likelihood he is pretty ill is not negligible
HeddaGarbled · 03/10/2020 00:32

They do this thing in the US where presidents and presidential candidates can’t admit to illness, so we won’t know the truth until he either dies or makes a complete recovery.

BigChocFrenzy · 03/10/2020 00:33

Trump kept saying this virus isn't serious, the last time only a wek ago

Keep drinking the bleach, Donald

Lockdownproblems · 03/10/2020 00:36

Why would anyone hope he is ok?

Torvean32 · 03/10/2020 00:37

He's in as he has an infection. And it means he will be allowed to work from a certain wing.

Of course he was flown in, he is a president.
I bet his ego still cant see how badly he went wrong. He will still not have any remorse for lives lost through his bad information, and scoffing about wearing masks.
No i wouldn't wish him to die. I'd like him to learn, and express humility.

RedToothBrush · 03/10/2020 00:38

Jim Acosta @acosta (cnn Whitehouse correspondent)
WH officials have serious concerns about Trump's condition tonight and his symptoms are worse than those of the First Lady at this point, according to our sources.

Also rather bizarrely Trump is taking an experimental drug which has yet to be peer reviewed (info released by the whitehouse). This drug is being used under 'compassionate' licensing (info released by the drug company) - this is usually done when no other drug treatment is available to a patient. The drug is being targeted at patients who have an extremely high viral count.

So why is the US president taking such a drug?

As highlighted on twitter you'd have to be crazy to just experiment with it on the president. Other treatments would logically be used first. At least you would think.

As it turns out Trump is mates with a number of the executives of the drug company, and the CEO plays golf at Trump’s club.

Honestly don't know what to make of it.

Inkpaperstars · 03/10/2020 00:40

@FATEdestiny

Why was he taken to hospital so publically?

When Boris Johnson was taken to hospital we were told after he had been admitted - no huge fanfare on leaving No10 for the hospital. POTUS could have gone similarly discreetly. Why didn't he?

I think it was deliberate so that no one could speculate that he had been taken out in a terrible state.
RedToothBrush · 03/10/2020 00:41

This morning they were saying trump had no symptoms.

Now hes been moved to hospital whilst Melania stays home.

CJsGoldfish · 03/10/2020 00:41

He's just off to get the very, very best treatment available. Treatment that is beyond almost anyone else he carelessly, or willfully infected by dismissing the severity.
He'll be fine. His supporters will feel vindicated that they also dismissed it based on his fuckwittery. He'll get the election boost he needs and nothing changes except for a lot more dead that didn't have the same access to treatment.

Sarahpaula · 03/10/2020 00:46

I hope he gets better

Inniu · 03/10/2020 00:46

@Bourdic

He knew on Thursday morning that Hicks was positive yet chose to carry on with his trip to the fundraiser. He continued to put people at risk. He’s an evil bastard not worth an ounce of anyone’s compassion.
As Obama said when he visited Northern Ireland

“Hope is contagious”
Wink

AlwaysLatte · 03/10/2020 00:53

I'm sure he will be able to access the cleaners' cupboard for bleach, being the POTUS!

AlwaysLatte · 03/10/2020 00:54

Let's just hope he doesn't get the sympathy vote.

Newjez · 03/10/2020 00:57

@Tangledyarn

Hes not being airlifted..hes going in his private helicopter like he always does, to his private hospital for cautionary treatment. Hopefully he'll take a turn for the worst asap.
Being taken by a helicopter is pretty much the definition of airlifted.
Susannahmoody · 03/10/2020 00:58

And don’t let Melania off - she’s an absolute cunt too.

^

Priceless! Best thing I've read all day

Newjez · 03/10/2020 01:05

@KaptainKaveman

Well at least China, Iran and Russia will be enjoying this new chapter in America's deterioration.
They will need to find another patsy.
Cruachan31 · 03/10/2020 01:05

@thecatsatonthewall

They said Boris only had mild symptoms and then it suddenly got very serious and he nearly died

Course he did!
My nr neighbour was in ICU for 5 weeks, came out in wheelchair, still poorly weeks later, thats nearly dying.

Johnsons was all precautionary and PR.

I think Trump is seriously ill, as said he wont want to appear weak.

Just wondering where you got this news from? Do you have insider information that Boris wasn’t really ill?? Apart from anything else, you are implying that the medical staff that treated Boris are all liars, which is pretty ignorant imho!!

Also, I can’t stand Trump, but I wish him well and hope he recovers. Those wishing Trump dead should just think how they would feel if people were expressing the hope that their relatives would die of Covid?

Bellagio40 · 03/10/2020 01:16

@Hoglet70

I'm not a Trump supporter so don't flame me but if you discount his public persona and foreign policy, he has done a lot for the middle American working class bloke and they might well be concerned.
You obviously don’t live in the US as this is rubbish.
CoolYourBeansMySon · 03/10/2020 01:44

I'd like him to learn, and express humility.

What, like Boris did?

Sarahpaula · 03/10/2020 01:46

I like Melania
