A few months ago it was Boris now it is Trumps turn to be possibly very ill. I hope he is ok. Such a frightening time for americans.

Melania gets a night off.

Houseplantmad · 02/10/2020 22:38

But the White House has extensive experts and medical facilities - a mini hospital - if they can't cope it's not just precautionary.

Rhine · 02/10/2020 22:38

They said Boris only had mild symptoms and then it suddenly got very serious and he nearly died.

I don’t agree with that, I don’t wish serious illness on anybody.

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz

I would imagine a lot of Americans are anything but frightened at the prospect of their president being seriously ill.
One word: Pence.

He's working from the hospital VIP suite.

And being "airlifted" = travelling by plane. As he often does.

Pixxie7 · 02/10/2020 22:40

Their bound to say it’s just a precaution, the same was said about Boris. It’s just a matter of watch this space.

KenDodd · 02/10/2020 22:40

I wonder if he asked to go rather than was advised?

Boris Johnson got a lot of public sympathy when he went to hospital, Trump's team would know this. They might be using his illness to manipulate the public just before an election.

GameofChess · 02/10/2020 22:41

See if he hadn’t have been tested he wouldn’t have had it. And he wouldn’t have to go through this.

Hokeywokey · 02/10/2020 22:42

Oh dear, never mind.

yeOldeTrout · 02/10/2020 22:42

It looks weak for DT to go to hospital.
He hates looking weak.
I'll wager he's feeling pretty rough is why he went. No longer mild.

And gets him out of the future debates

@movingonup20

I suspect there will be street parties tonight rather than worry! He's a very decisive figure!!! Friends are already posting on Facebook how they hope it's his final trip. I don't personally wish him ill health, that would be wrong but keeping him in hospital until early November would be an idea???
Decisive? I think it’s extremely bad taste to suggest street parties are happening.
ErrolTheDragon · 02/10/2020 22:44

It's possible they're not designed to deal with containing infection, so the move may be more to protect other people working in the White House.
Hmmph · 02/10/2020 22:44

Trump said at the time that Boris’s approval ratings were great after his hospitalisation. I think he said it whilst Boris was still in intensive care. He sounded jealous to me. I cannot find a record of it by googling but I know it’s happened.

Komacho · 02/10/2020 22:45

If he dies does Vice President "pray away the gay" go on the ballot instead?

namechanged984630 · 02/10/2020 22:45

If it was precautionary or die to his age they would have taken him the moment he tested positive. He's obviously gone downhill. How much we can't say.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/10/2020 22:45

Decisive?

I'm guessing that was a typo for 'divisive', from the context.

DolphinsAndNemesis · 02/10/2020 22:46

I’m not certain I believe that he was admitted to the hospital due to “an abundance of caution.” I would imagine that the severity of his symptoms is being downplayed. Not surprising, really, since Trump et al have been downplaying the seriousness of the pandemic for months.

I’m a U.S. citizen. I voted today. I most assuredly did not vote for this odious man. The possibility of his death doesn’t frighten me in the least. If he somehow manages to finagle a second term, that would be a terrifying scenario.

KaptainKaveman · 02/10/2020 22:46

Well he is deeply hated around the world. I wouldn't be surprised if people were cracking open the champagne.

titchy · 02/10/2020 22:47

Hokeywokey · 02/10/2020 22:47

Trump is a despicable human being and deserves all he gets.

OperationallySound · 02/10/2020 22:47

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz

BBC also saying he has a fully kitted out hospital within the white house so it's concerning that he would feel the need to go elsewhere.
But good for getting a negative press and public off his back.....
KenDodd · 02/10/2020 22:48

I was think of the best case scenario on this.

Trump gets a bit of covid, gets better quickly.
Trump passed covid on to Biden at the debate due to Trump's own recklessness.
Biden dies of covid.
Huge public backlash against Trump sees him hammered in the election.
Kamala Harris becomes president :)

Obviously I don't want Biden to die though, that's the only big downside on my dream plan.
