A few months ago it was Boris now it is Trumps turn to be possibly very ill. I hope he is ok. Such a frightening time for americans.

"Serves you right!
Thomas to Trump.

BoomBoomsCousin · 02/10/2020 23:13

@Komacho

If he dies does Vice President "pray away the gay" go on the ballot instead?
It's too late to change candidates on the ballot. Even if states' rules allowed a new name at this stage, it's physically too late to reprint all the ballots.

People would have to vote for Trump which tells their state's representatives in the electoral college who to vote for. The RNC would have to choose a candidate to replace Trump and hope that the representatives who should be voting for Trump voted for the replacement they chose.

I'm not a Trump supporter so don't flame me but if you discount his public persona and foreign policy, he has done a lot for the middle American working class bloke and they might well be concerned.

It might not be his re-election that is scary, but that Pence steps into the President’s office. As much as Trump is hated it’s the background Republicans that need to be considered.

intheenddoesitreallymatter · 02/10/2020 23:15

:)

sally067 · 02/10/2020 23:16

If they notify under the 25th amendment (Pence taking over) then it’s really serious. Until then everything else is just speculation.

I wouldn't be surprised if he uses the experimental treatment (from his mate at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals) they've given him as a cure of sorts and takes the credit for it as the wonder drug that ends Covid.

CoronaIsWatching · 02/10/2020 23:16

Victim of his own stupidity.

Asterion · 02/10/2020 23:17

Both here and in the US 'exhaustion' is used as a euphemism for mental health breakdown and/or rehab.

Yup, that and "dehydration" Hmm

Fallowdeerhunter · 02/10/2020 23:17

He’s in big trouble. Trump wouldn’t go to hospital unless he absolutely had to. He’s a power mad macho narcissist- they don’t get ill....

And as everyone says there’s a full medical facility in the White House

And don’t let Melania off - she’s an absolute cunt too.

HunkyPunk · 02/10/2020 23:17

I imagine they'd take him in as a precautionary measure way earlier than they'd admit a normal person

Yes, just like Boris, who was admitted pretty sharpish to ITU (for oxygen treatment not ventilation), while 'normal' people here were fighting to be admitted.

Again - immaculate timing, following the widespread speculation about whether Trump actually has the virus or not. This proves he must have it, right?

@Hoglet70 like what?

Bourdic · 02/10/2020 23:18

He knew on Thursday morning that Hicks was positive yet chose to carry on with his trip to the fundraiser. He continued to put people at risk. He’s an evil bastard not worth an ounce of anyone’s compassion.

MotherMood · 02/10/2020 23:18

@MsEllany he may be fascistic but I wouldn't call him an outright fascist

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 02/10/2020 23:20

Scary time to be an American.

@AllTheWhoresOfMalta

Scary time to be an American.
Agreed.
yeOldeTrout · 02/10/2020 23:21

DT just walked out to the helicopter, waved to media, wearing a suit, masked... Video to follow.

Commentators noting that Trump rarely skips chances to talk to journos.

PicsInRed · 02/10/2020 23:21

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz

I would imagine a lot of Americans are anything but frightened at the prospect of their president being seriously ill.
They should be frightened. The next in line isn't Biden. It's Pence.
Angelw · 02/10/2020 23:22

He’s a horrible man, I hope it’s a hoax though..

OperationallySound · 02/10/2020 23:22

Hopefully Dr Scott Atlas will be looking after him......

Oh and if anyone thinks jokes or not wishing him well is a bit off, they'd do well to consider how many of the 200,000+ victims of covid in the US might still be alive if he had actually behaved responsibly throughout this crisis and modelled safe behaviour. He has their blood all over his hands.

KenDodd · 02/10/2020 23:22

So I guess the hydroxychloroquine he recommended we take as a preventative didn't work for him.
I wonder if he'll try the bleach?

yeOldeTrout · 02/10/2020 23:23

This book was recommended to me today, to understand the American working class who support Trump.

@Hoglet70 like what?

Yes, by getting rid of some social programs, but they still pay the most taxes and hardly any benefits from it.
AdoraBell · 02/10/2020 23:25

Or a UV light

Zeebeezee · 02/10/2020 23:25

I wouldn't wish C19 on anyone.

But my scepticism wins out now. No more debates, a sympathy vote and a resurgence when he "recovers".

Perfect timing. And he is an uncouth total idiot too just to mention.
