A few months ago it was Boris now it is Trumps turn to be possibly very ill. I hope he is ok. Such a frightening time for americans.

I don't think Trump has contributed in any way to Western security or stability, quite the opposite in fact

It's more the concern that enemies of the West can make hay while the sun shines. This is a legitimate US national security concern and therefore a concern to all of us under the general umbrella of The West.

pregnantprayingmantis · 02/10/2020 23:47

Timing was impeccable, the Melania tapes dropped and a few hours later Tump tests positive, suddenly the damaging recording is forgotten.

AnneLovesGilbert · 02/10/2020 23:47

@quarlly

I don't really get all the hate for him, I wouldn't want anyone to be ill
Do you not know anything about the man?

"Biden has tested negative thankfully"

Bidenay have tested negative today, but he was in conyeith Trump 2 days ago and the incubation period can be up to 14 days.

No White House person is going to say if Trump is seriously ill unless they absolutely have to.

Hes probably tucked up in bed right now with our enemies. As he always has been.

@NicholasTopliss

He will be getting every possible treatment. Something millions of Americans can't afford.
Canada's healthcare is free though.
KaptainKaveman · 02/10/2020 23:51

Well at least China, Iran and Russia will be enjoying this new chapter in America's deterioration.

egfd2557 · 02/10/2020 23:51

This is just another way of him sabotaging the election. It’s the chaos that keeps him in power. Why believe a man who lies and cheats continually to get what he wants? He lies about everything else in life, now he’s lying about having coronavirus

HoneysuckIejasmine · 02/10/2020 23:51

Pence concerns me. He's the fundamentalist sociopath awaiting in the wings. Lots of Repubs who don't like trump's behaviour would be much more willing to vote for Pence.

Livelovebehappy · 02/10/2020 23:52

Hope he’s okay. Awful virus which has already taken too many people. We need to get this vaccine sorted quickly.

ViciousJackdaw · 02/10/2020 23:54

I think it’s extremely bad taste to suggest street parties are happening

Well quite, we are talking about the USA here, surely they would be block parties?

Seriously though, I don't want anyone to die from C19. I didn't want Borifice to die and I don't want Trump to die. Don't get me wrong, they are among the foulest of the foul but wishing death on others (unless it is for a merciful end) is pretty foul in itself.

Inkpaperstars · 02/10/2020 23:55

I think it is precautionary, they would rather him be seen walking out to the helicopter now than risk a situation where he gets worse and has to be transferred in a worse state. If they stretchered him out even without anyone seeing rumours would start.

I hope Biden will be ok. Him testing negative so far doesn't tell us much but hopefully he is in the clear.

I would not put any type of stunt past a desperate Trump on a losing slide, but I suspect the diagnosis is genuine.

quarlly · 02/10/2020 23:55

@AnneLovesGilbert I know I don't want him to be unwell, I don't get why anyone would

time4anothername · 02/10/2020 23:57

I had not heard about the Melania tapes until you mentioned it, just looked it up. That's grim on all sides.

Inkpaperstars · 02/10/2020 23:59

Tbh I think the thread title is not quite accurate, he was taken to hospital by air, probably as a precaution, walking out unaided to board the helicopter. I understand writing that title, I dont think it was meant to be misleading, but as it turns out it does make the situation sound a bit more dramatic than it seems to be.

safariboot · 03/10/2020 00:03

Apparently he's taking "Regeneron's polyclonal antibody cocktail". I'm sure it's a real treatment but that sounds just like the name for a Victorian 'patent medicine' snake oil Grin.

I’m with Mark Twain on this one:

“I've never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.”

plinkplinkfizzer · 03/10/2020 00:04

@Yummyplainscones

As long as the Tango Terror has a steady supply of burgers, Fox News and a Mega Dose of Vitamin D in the absence of a sun bed I reckon he’ll be able to get through this.
Apparently , Walter Reed Hospital used to have Mc Donalds . Pres . Obama signed an E . O mandating higher min . wage for federal contractors making it no longer tenible . Almost like Obama knew .
KnightsofColumbusThatHurt · 03/10/2020 00:04

Whilst I wouldn't normally wish illness on anyone, I really don't want Trump to be a mild/asymptomatic case, as he would then just push a narrative that Covid is not a dangerous disease at all, and that the idea that it is is just 'fake news', which would be terrible for the people of America. A good old dose of it to bring him back to reality would do the trick.

MiconiumHappens · 03/10/2020 00:05

Could be unrelated but the president is not allowed to conduct election campaigning from within the White house.

baroqueandblue · 03/10/2020 00:11

I hope he's okay. When all's said and done, he's a human being with a family who love him

A bit naive, perhaps. Read I, Claudius Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 03/10/2020 00:15

@Lockheart

Whilst I won't be celebrating, I can't say I feel a huge amount of sympathy for a man who trades in nothing but misinformation and hatred.

He's claimed the virus affects virtually nobody and has admitted to playing it down. He refuses to wear masks and continually holds crowded rallies.

He has no-one to blame but himself.

Agreed.

I hope it makes his hair fall out.

Hmm
SionnachRua · 03/10/2020 00:21

Trump suffering from an illness that he spent months denying and downplaying at every turn?

Oh, the humanity. Let me get out my tiny violin...

FATEdestiny · 03/10/2020 00:22

Why was he taken to hospital so publically?

When Boris Johnson was taken to hospital we were told after he had been admitted - no huge fanfare on leaving No10 for the hospital. POTUS could have gone similarly discreetly. Why didn't he?
