I know we're talking movies rather than tv but I'm watching Bones for the umpteenth time and I'm on "the patriot in purgatory" which is an episode where the victim acted heroically on 9/11
Those familiar may know the episode, but even if you've not watched bones before I highly recommend this episode.
But the scene that moves me most is Arastoo's impassioned response to Finn's I'll thought out comment regarding Arastoo being a Muslim - like the bombers!
It's a speech where he is clearly both angry and sad, and says that his faith was "hijacked" that day by arrogant hypocrites.
It's very moving.
There's also a scene where the interns in this episode recall where they were when they heard the news.
Cam recalls giving the bad news to too many families as a coroner in New York that day, Wendell lost an uncle who was a firefighter.
Now I know they're fictional characters but I think it's moving not just because of love for the characters but because we know there will be real life people with those memories, losses and experiences.
For tv fans who need a cathartic cry, This is us - nearly every episode!
@myotherusernameisonholiday I think deep impact is a far better apocalypse movie than Armageddon which came out around the same time and did better at the box office I think
@YouveGotMeWhosGotYou (great username btw) I'm thinking you're talking about American history X? Incredible film I think everyone should watch at least once - but maybe zip through that kerb scene!
@Aroundtheworldin80moves John candy is another I struggle to watch his films now, comedians really understand human emotion so well in my opinion. For me though it's really planes, trains and automobiles when Steve Martins character realises John candy's doesn't have anyone
@JunoJigglewick omg yes re the family stone! Awesome film!
