Cycled 10 miles to swim in a river. Even when the temperature has dropped to 9 degrees!
Swimming was the one thing I really missed in lockdown and I was so pleased to be able to join the Serpentine Swimming club. Even though the indoor pools are now open I want to see how long I can keep this up. Swimming with the swans is great!
What's your experience?

Rejoiced when I saw a bag of flour in Sainsbury's after three months of shortages (we seemed to be the last to get it back).

TrackAndTraceW · 27/09/2020 09:47

Wash/disinfect all my food shoppings as soon as I got home.

Quarantine my post for 72 hours (at the beginning of lockdown, not now)

CarnageAtTheGardenCentre · 27/09/2020 09:52

.....had so many takeaways.

They say you are what you eat, so I’m a kebab with a chicken gyros filling, topped with a pizza and a curry sauce.....

Afonavon · 27/09/2020 12:38

Been annoyed at others going down the aisle the ‘wrong’ way.

Perfected (and scoffed many) homemade loaves of bread.

Listened to birdsong, really loud when there was no traffic noise.

Enjoyed to much time with my nuclear family.

PuppyMonkey · 27/09/2020 12:45

Often agreed with Piers Morgan.Grin

MsAwesomeDragon · 27/09/2020 12:46

Worn a mask to school.

bettsbattenburg · 27/09/2020 12:48

Had time to do a jigsaw

PicsInRed · 27/09/2020 13:22

Marched resolutely into a bank wearing a mask.

nosswith · 27/09/2020 13:23

Worked from home other than maybe a few times a year.
Thought that Jeremy Hunt should be Prime Minister.
Walked around various parts of my local area.
Learnt about bluebells and moorhens.

BrowncoatWaffles · 27/09/2020 13:25

Baked bloody banana bread.

monkeyonthetable · 27/09/2020 13:33

LOL @PicsInRed

OP - that's a lovely story. I'd love to try wild swimming. I'm going to look it up. Is it still happening or is it getting too cold?

alongtimeagoandfaraway · 27/09/2020 13:39

Run. Did couch to 5k in lockdown as I was losing fitness. Never thought I would enjoy it but I do and got my first medal for a virtual run this week.

Purplesquirrel1986 · 27/09/2020 15:10

Spend day after day after day doing nothing but walk the dog, eat, sleep and worry about redundancy. I nearly went bonkers. Why couldn't I get the house sorted out? It was like a sort of furlough freeze. I'm actually doing more now I'm back at work. I always thought if I had time off work I'd get everything else done. Nope.

MarmiteyCrumpets · 27/09/2020 15:13

A bit mundane, but done an online grocery shop. And I'm never going back!

Ihatesandwiches · 27/09/2020 15:17

Had so many picnics! Went for our daily walk at lunch time and took our packed lunch with us. Lots of delightful walks and relaxing times on a blanket completing hone learning

ReefTeeth · 27/09/2020 15:20

Believed I'd be under curfew for 10+ weeks, have barely gone further than 5km from my home since March, been slightly afraid to do the shop (I'm not now, but was a bit anxious in the early days), thought I'd not be able to leave Australia, and the big one, been so glad I moved home from the UK before this shitshow started.

2020 has been the biggest mind-fuck I've ever experienced. And that includes the drugs.

Northernsoullover · 27/09/2020 15:22

Used Amazon Blush

Veryverycalmnow · 27/09/2020 15:22

Discovered the countryside near my home.

ComicePear · 27/09/2020 15:23

Gone for a run almost every day for two months - I usually fit in one or two per week.

Spent literally no time alone in the house in 5 months.

Done a jigsaw when it's not Christmas time.

Susannahmoody · 27/09/2020 15:24

Consider texting a mate beforehand if she'd accept my homemade cake

HowFastIsTooFast · 27/09/2020 15:24

Voluntarily video called anyone outside of my immediate circle of friends.

ComicePear · 27/09/2020 15:26

Taught my parents how to use zoom (now that was a painful hour)

trappedsincesundaymorn · 27/09/2020 15:27

Taken antidepressants.

BogRollBOGOF · 27/09/2020 15:30

Thought that teaching my own beloved offspring was actually worse than teaching y8 set 4 just before lunch.

Felt daring for sitting on a bench or having an illicit picnic in the arse end of nowhere.

Cry with happiness seeing children enter a playground for the first time in 3.5 months as the chap cut off the padlock on the second gate.

Encourage my children to climb over a fence into a playground because I was so worried at how depressed and lethargic my 7 year old had become after 3 months of isolation and understimulation.

Dowser · 27/09/2020 15:44

..realised there were so many snitches and curtain twitchers in the community
