Does anyone on here have a Filofax or planner?

Not gonna lie, I am a bit of a Filofax and stationery junkie and as it’s been my payday recently, i was going to treat myself in Ryman’s or WH Smith. But last night, I found a gorgeous vintage leather Filofax Cavendish. It’s navy blue, I’m normally more of a pale pink or purple girl, but the quality looks lovely and despite being personal size, it has huge 30mm rings that are normally exclusive to the bigger a5 planners.

It got me thinking, who else on here carries a Filofax or planner? Obviously I do have an iPhone but something about paper I just love.

Can’t be the only Filofax lover here, can I?Grin

Me, I have a raspberry leather Filofax - it’s very well used, I run my life from it, it’s the thing I would grab in the event of a house fire. I’m starting to look at new diary inserts for next year.

Lazysundayafternoons · 24/09/2020 20:07

I just have an a5 diary, a page for each day, and honestly would have been lost this year without it.
Since having my second DC last year I have been so forgetful, I have it open beside me all day every day at work, have my AL for the year mapped out in it, and have my Christmas shopping list written in the back of it.
Have already been looking for my 2021 one.

I have a personal sized Malden but mainly use a spiral bound Erin Condren Life Planner. It’s a thing of beauty. I use stickers too. 😳

Oh I love those. But I hate the idea of having to get rid of it after the year when it’s been all lovingly decorated. Plus I am not keen on Erin herself after what she did during lockdown. Blush

@Jellycatspyjamas oh what model is that, a Finsbury?

Ordered mine off eBay, was a lucky find and a little expensive but around the same price as the current Filofaxes in store Grin

Ahhhhh I have found my people!!!!

I particularly enjoy a good couple of hours during Twixmas writing in birthdays and important events in the new year's insert.

I keep 3 years in the current filofax, previous years are paperclipped and stored in a shoebox in case of....something.

Everyone thinks I'm mad.

MaidofKent78 · 24/09/2020 20:22

Me me me!!! I use an A5 travellers notebook (TN) on my desk that has my diary, notebook, a sketchpad in it. And a travel sized TN in my handbag for gathering notes and sketches out and about.

Both handmade by an artisan TN maker, the A5 to my own design. Expensive, but not much more than a Filofax and so beautiful :-)

Me neither Honey. Unfortunately I already had a planner for this year abs had bought mine ready for next year too. I figured I’ll use them up as I have them and then decide where to put my money in the future. I keep mine and do look back through them. I’m not a huge sticker user - functional rather than no white space.

A filofax? As in just one? faints

(But I am old. I boight my first filofax-alike back in the 1980s)

Jellycatspyjamas · 24/09/2020 20:32

@Jellycatspyjamas oh what model is that, a Finsbury?

Yes, it’s looking a bit ragged round the edges but I love it.

LeroyJenkinssss · 24/09/2020 20:33

I have a bullet journal which I love. Use it for planning and huge number of lists I much prefer paper as it really sets it in my mind if I write it down.

What did Erin do??

daisychicken · 24/09/2020 20:40

I have a filofax clipbook with the weekly undated planner (week to view on one page and blank opposite page) and bullet journal. Absolutely love it. Am debating upgrading the cover but do love my red clipbook!

Justnotfeelingit · 24/09/2020 20:41

I have an A5 Filofax that I run my work life in.

I have a pink one, got it a while back on eBay and it’s very beautiful but huge! It’s the a5 size

I do own a Filofax but honestly, haven't used it to it's full potential. Am looking for something for 2021 though. Have been looking at passion planners.

I love Filofaxes but I think as the years have gone by they aren’t as good quality, so many I’ve ordered have had gaps in the ring mechanism, so much so that it’s made me incredibly anxious to order online. Fingers crossed my vintage one is fine though!

feistyoneyouare · 24/09/2020 20:49

I'm a little bit hooked on them. sheepish I own far too many (mainly Personal but a few A5), including three Maldens. I swap in and out of them in a similar way to swapping into a different handbag. Grin I should probably sell a few though.

thetrees · 24/09/2020 21:13

I've got one that I was given in about 1990. I use it as a notebook/planner rather than a diary. Love it

Mine is the personal size, just that little bit smaller but makes it more portable.

IndecentFeminist · 24/09/2020 21:28

I have an aqua Lockwood which I love. I've been through many different planners...Midoris, Roterfaden, plum planners (like Erin condren) but this is working for now. I like the flexibility to move inserts around, and have figured out how to print my own to a degree now.

My actual diary inserts are week to a page with notes opposite. At the moment that works well, when I was busier day to day (kids kit of school etc) 2 days to a page was better.

Honeybeexo · 24/09/2020 22:01

Love how there’s so many people who like their Filo’s here, is there anything people don’t like about them? I wish there was a size the same height as personal, but a lot wider and with bigger rings (hoping my new vintage one with big rings solves one of the problems!)

I like my planners hugely chunky and lots of stickers and washi

OP posts:
IndecentFeminist · 24/09/2020 22:12

I find the rings a little annoying to write round

Bioprepper · 24/09/2020 22:19

I would be interested to know what Erin did too!

I had a filo for years then I swapped to a Kiki k a5 planner. I’m a teacher so this year I invested in an Erin condren teacher planner Plus lots of stickers and I LOVE it!!!
