I certainly wouldn’t ride it in a store
But if I pushed it around gently while waking beside it
Would that be ok ?
I mean I suppose you get pram wheels in shops all the time

Is it a kids scooter? Not sure it’s a big issue and I would as long as you didn’t let it swing around and hit anyone. Not sure how it’s a COVID risk?

I wouldn't bat an eyelid, except maybe if its very busy and it was getting in people's way. Covid risk really?

If people are socially distancing then it wouldn’t get in the way. I’d have no problem with this at all. (But then I’d quite like a scooter so am maybe jealous)

It's fine as long as it's not getting in the way, not sure it is any more a risk than say a buggy

If you rolled it along carefully and made sure it wasn’t in anyone’s way I don’t think it would be a problem.

Scooters are banned from all my local supermarkets, due to the amount of kids who start off pushing them and end up riding them.

OP EVRYTHING is a covid risk. No matter how ridiculous it sounds, or how little sense it makes.

Only time I had one with us someone in the checkout saw and said they’d hold onto it for us. Pre Covid. Next shop I made DS wait outside, he was 8 and quite sensible.

I would imagine they don’t want them in thE shop in case they are ridden on. If it’s just an adult (eg walking back from school) I cant imagine that’s a problem.

My DS has been asked by staff not to bring his into our local supermarket (he has never ridden it in there, only pushed it).

If you kept it out of the way maybe, but it is likely to be a trip hazard for some, especially those that struggle to see where their feet are due to wearing a mask/dodgy eyes/mobility.

However if you were like the woman with the partially folded bike who was using it to batter her way around Sainsburys at the start of lockdown I think I would tell you what to do with it.

Covid risk in many ways

Bringing an unnecessary item into store,trip hazard on the narrowed down aisles, ridden on then bumping customers and staff and just another problem for stores to deal with!

Ask if you can keep it behind the tills

Isn't it a bit big to push around the aisles? I can just about get a buggy round some shops. I think it really needs to be secured and left outside on the carpark.

I also have never ever seen one bring pushed round a shop.

I've done it after the school drop off and have had no issue though our supermarket is big with wide aisles and isn't busy at that time. Wouldn't bat an eye seeing someone else do it. I think you're more likely to get complaints if it is the child that is pushing it as people don't trust children to be sensible with it (whereas it's unlikely the adult would be tempted to start riding down the aisle on the child's scooter!)

Covid measures in stores mean extra precautions are taken. In our store aisles are narrowed, we have several sanitising stations dotted around. Customers are more anxious and yes, visibility due to masks isn’t great....we’ve had a few accidents already

Health and safety auditors are all over retail right now .... they have new covid audits for stores ensuring we are doing our best to minimise risk. Anyone hurting themselves on that scooter or being run into by it, cuts yes will need a member of staff to offer first aid

I see no problem with this op. Many do it in supermarkets where I live.

Would you take your bike into the supermarket? Very expensive racing bike? E-Bike? Moped... What's the difference? Why can't it be locked outside?
