For me it's a mythical creature from Pennsylvania

For DH it's something to do with vaping.

It's also onomatopoeic for that noise irritating people make when blowing their nose.

Wow. Learned something new and I have been many times to Pennsylvania and never heard of the mythical creature the squonk.

It means not straight, like the picture frame is squonk. Although I don't think it's popular and I'm never sure how to spell it, we use it a lot in my family.

If it's not an email to a friend and is work related I wouldn't use it. You don't want to face HR discussions about why you sent an email referencing a dirty wank when you actually meant a mythical creature/vaping!
