Just wondering as mine is looking fairly in need of a wash...

Lipz · 18/09/2020 14:52

I use to do it once a week but now I only do it once a fortnight Blush I need to get back in the habit of doing them more.

thereplycamefromanchorage · 18/09/2020 14:53

Never.

pinkbalconyrailing · 18/09/2020 14:55

I never do. but I don't use hair products other than schampoo...
I de-hair it once a week or so.

Very rarely. I wash my hair most days & only use my brush after it's just been washed really.

I remove the hair quite often & muse over the fact that I might should keep it As it's getting so thin on my head!!

Everythingmagnolia · 18/09/2020 14:56

Never

Noooo? Seriously? The OP said hairbrush, not hair.

I'm not sure I've ever washed a hair brush. After all, it's generally used for brushing clean hair, so how dirty does it get?

Kote · 18/09/2020 15:00

Never Confused

TinySleepThief · 18/09/2020 15:03

Never. I wasn't aware this was a thing I should be doing... Why on earth would anyone wash a hair brush?

GreenGoldRed · 18/09/2020 15:05

I’m glad others on this thread are like, “you are meant to wash hairbrushes”.

The only time I “wash” hair brushes is if the kids have nits. Then they get dunked in boiling water

FatGirlShrinking · 18/09/2020 15:13

Never. I de-hair it regularly but never actually wash the brush, but then I don't use any products on my hair so it never gets funky or anything.

It's more product than dirt. The products stick to the base, also I've a big roly brush and bristles are tight together, this clogs with hair and product, not so much the likes of my vent brush, it's more just product that needs cleaning on then.
RemyHadley · 18/09/2020 15:34

You probably only need to if you’re brushing dirty hair or hair with lots of products on? I don’t think I ever have.

silentpool · 18/09/2020 15:59

Monthly. I remove all the hair and wash it.

EBearhug · 18/09/2020 16:01

When it looks like it needs doing, which uncoincidentally is often after a day or two with lots of gardening, which means I will have brushed leaves and twigs out. But there could be months in between.

I pull the loose hair from it most days.

vanillandhoney · 18/09/2020 16:09

Never. I only brush my hair when it's clean out of the shower. I remove hair from it every few days, though.

angelcakebananabrain · 18/09/2020 16:11

I regularly remove the hair but don’t often wash it altho I do mean to, I brush mine a lot so it must get a fair amount of oil on it.

Toontown · 18/09/2020 16:11

Never and ive had the same brush since I was 7!

The4ks · 18/09/2020 16:12

I spray hairspray on mine and brush through my hair, helps tame flyaways. Gets pretty sticky after a couple of weeks as you can imagine.

So the answer to your question is, never, I just buy a new one! Luckily they're very cheap!

Anordinarymum · 18/09/2020 16:14

Disgusting bunch of people I must say

looks for hairbrush

TheChosenTwo · 18/09/2020 16:16

I have never washed a hairbrush!
I dehair it maybe once a month or so but I only really brush my twice a week (have quite curly hair and I rarely brush it or else it goes frizzy) after I’ve washed it.

BeyondMyWits · 18/09/2020 16:16

it depends. The one I use for dry shampoo or to brush out hairspray, I give it a wash after a couple of uses.

The one I use for clean hair, gets left, but hair gets taken off it weekly..

ameliajoan · 18/09/2020 16:20

Never Confused

pooopypants · 18/09/2020 16:21

Only when it gets those weird.little grey fluffy bits in it.... Like once a year?

pooopypants · 18/09/2020 16:22

I'll chuck it through the dishwasher next time I lob the loo brushes through 🤨

Nquartz · 18/09/2020 16:23

I did mine yesterday for the first time since I got it for Christmas. I've never washed one before 🙈
