Just wondering as mine is looking fairly in need of a wash...

Ummm how do you wash a hairbrush??

Remove any hair. I then shampoo it and rinse it well and leave it to drain.

Probably depends a bit on the type of brush.

I have short hair so never use a brush but what is amazing me is that people only brush their (long?) hair after they have washed it. Surely it needs brushing first thing in the morning before washing.

@MissConductUS - l hope the correction system works in your house. Discipline is so important isn’t it? Grin I think he should be sent to wash it himself afterwards though. They don’t learn through half measures. Shock

I de hair it about every 2-3 months. Should do it more often really as my hair is very long but DS1 is weird and tries to keep the hair balls as pets so I have to remember to do it when he's not around. 🙄

Every other day. Dust collects in mine.

lboogy · 20/09/2020 07:04

@loobypants you put the toilet brush in the dishwasher? Please tell me that's a joke?

MissConductUS · 20/09/2020 11:41

@StarlightLady The discipline system at our house "works a treat" as you Brits say. Smile It works so well that it's very rarely needed.

I like the idea of having him wash the hairbrush. It'll have to go on his list after something else he does to show me his appreciation when he's been given guidance, as it were. Grin

My hair is curly so only gets brushed when wet and just washed. I remove hair at this point else I’d have a wig growing on it Grin

I don’t ever make an effort to wash the brush though. All my kids have straight hair that gets brushed before school. Haven’t washed that brush either.

@lboogy - used to be a bit of a joke on here. People would put their knives and chopping boards in the dishwasher with raw chicken juices on - when a large proportion of uk chicken contains bugs that are nasty, but they would not put a beached loo brush in there.

(I would not put either)

@BeyondMyWits thanks for the clarity. It seemed so weird and out of context 😂
