Wine and Cake Delivery

BikeRunSki · 16/09/2020 19:21

I want to send my friend a hamper/box gift delivery that just has wine and cake in it. Nothing else. It’s to tie in with a movie reference, I am also getting her the screenplay.

She now lives 300 miles away, so I can’t do it myself.

I can find services to deliver wine; wine and cheese; Prosecco and chocolate and much bigger hampers, but to have the significance I want it to, I just want “Cake, and the finest wines known to humanity”.

Anyone know anywhere I can order this combo?

No. But I love Withnail Grin

Got it in one @Nosnogginginthekitchen. 😊I might also include a tube of Ralgex.

And a toy cuddly rabbit with 'here, hare, here' on it.

Can you find a cake maker local to her that will deliver? You could try asking them to deliver a bottle of wine (which you obv pay for!) too.

Depends on your budget but

THIS ONE LOOKS NICE

BikeRunSki · 16/09/2020 19:41

@iklboo, I’ve sent that (budget is fine btw), but it’s Prosecco. I’m really after red wine. It’s a bit more Withnail. And a lot more my friend!

@Montybojangles, I’ve seen that one too. Again, pink sparkly wine doesn’t quite hit the mark.

But @iklboo and @Montybojangles, thank you for looking.

“Seen that”, not “sent that”. Sorry. Could be confusing.

If you were able to give any clues about location, you might find a willing MNer to do the delivery for you. If your friend lives in London, I'll consider it.

Withnail is one of my all-time favourite films.

BikeRunSki · 16/09/2020 19:47

That is a great plan @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g!

Unfortunately not London, but Portsmouth.

I'd look for a naice deli near her and ask them to put a hamper up to your specifications. We have one on our high street that will do anything you like - my godmother rang them and had a cheese hamper put together with crackers, grapes and berries for my mum's birthday and they delivered the morning of her birthday.

I get it now you say it but how the hell did you get that so quickly?? I know that film so well and it didn't even occur to me!

Sorry, I'm no help op, but I also adore that film a lot!

iklboo · 16/09/2020 19:50

THIS ONE - TOO DEAR?

BikeRunSki · 16/09/2020 19:51

Googling now @Xiaoxiong 😊🍷🎂

You can buy a fruit cake and a bottle of wine online from Fortnum & Mason.

BikeRunSki · 16/09/2020 19:53

That might be the one @iklboo. I’m wondering if the cheese might distract from the withnailiness.

Harvey Nichols? You can make up your own box.

TheFutureIs · 16/09/2020 19:54

I reckon Parade Tea Rooms might be able to sort you out. They do the best cakes in the city and they're licenced so should have wine too

TheFutureIs · 16/09/2020 19:57

paradetearooms.co.uk/food/ they do delivery too

RegalRags · 16/09/2020 19:59

slattery.co.uk/#

They do wine and cake here

RegalRags · 16/09/2020 20:01

Actually I've just seen this

AdaColeman · 16/09/2020 20:01

Send her an Ocado delivery of the cake and wine of your choice, minimum spend £40 plus delivery. Should have a good choice of fine wine, and a selection of cakes.
