DH shows he loves me in lots of ways but he tends to only buy me flowers on Valentines Day & sometimes on our Anniversary.

Never. He knows better. I hate flowers. Petaly bastards.

RoSEbuds6 · 16/09/2020 18:06

That is a great story isadorapolly Grin

Lyricallie · 16/09/2020 18:07

All the time. Especially if he's popped out to the shops. Or if we are shopping together he always says make sure you get some flowers.

However sometimes I treat myself to fancy flowers because why not. I love flowers.

RobinlovesCormoran · 16/09/2020 18:10

Never. But I think they are wasteful.

2bazookas · 16/09/2020 18:21

about every three weeks or so. Carnations yesterday; irises last time.

topcat2014 · 16/09/2020 18:54

Aldi is the biggest flower seller in the UK. I buy some most weeks

Never. If he ever did I would immediately assume he was having an affair or had bet our house on black and lost.

LovelyLovelyMe · 16/09/2020 19:21

Every single week and has done so for years. I get the cup of tea in bed too, one thing doesn't have to rule out another.

They're not a waste for me because I love them!

Suzi888 · 16/09/2020 19:22

Once I think, I prefer wine Grin

ClinkyMonkey · 16/09/2020 19:24

After our first proper date in 1986.
One random Valentines Day.
After DS1 was born in 2008.

So, that's three times in 34 years. So, once a decadeGrin

He tends to buy me technology on a whim. Very romantic!

Helgathehairy · 16/09/2020 19:25

DH gets me flowers for Valentines day, Mothers day and my birthday. So i often buy myself some from Tesco, Lidl, Aldi.

Except the other day DH took 3 year old DD to Aldi and she insisted on buying me flowers. She has since told me that once these flowers die she'll buy me more. So it looks like she's in charge now!

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 16/09/2020 19:26

very, very rarely. Last was when I was having a really tough time health-wise. Maybe he's on to something as I valued the gesture more for its rarity! I get myself flowers at least once a month though, even if just a cheapo bunch.

Batshitbeautycosmeticsltd · 16/09/2020 19:28

Never. I find them a waste.

janeyloves · 16/09/2020 21:03

Never. I hate getting flowers.

weepingwillow22 · 17/09/2020 08:32

My DH bought me an annual subscription to bloom and wild for monthly deliveries for my birthday. It has been lovely but I really like flowers unlike most people on here.

Hes never bought me flowers. He knows that I find the giving of flowers as a romantic gesture very odd. Here as a symbol of my love for you have these beautiful flowers that will eventually wilt and die.... i just dont get it.

We occasionally have flowers in the house but as a gift im not a fan.

MaidenMotherCrone · 17/09/2020 09:52

Whenever the existing ones are past their best so every 10/14 days. He brings me other lovely things too. Yesterday it was acorns for my altar Smile and a silicon pouring spoutGrin

UnitedRoad · 17/09/2020 13:27

He buys them a lot in the spring because I love daffodils. He doesn’t hand them over ceremoniously though, just plonks them in a vase and puts them on the side. They only cost about a pound and brighten up the sitting room. Apart from that - never.
