DH shows he loves me in lots of ways but he tends to only buy me flowers on Valentines Day & sometimes on our Anniversary.

Never, but he doesn't mind if I buy them for myself from our joint account.

He expresses his love by doing half the housrwork and childcare, which is preferable to me.

Cuppaand2biscuits · 16/09/2020 13:21

Only on my birthday, Valentine's day and mothers day. So in other words, only when obliged to to.
My lovely mother in law buys me flowers every few months.

Blobby10 · 16/09/2020 13:33

Never! He has said that if he ever buys me flowers its because he wants to split up so I'm quite happy not to get them Grin

AuntieMarys · 16/09/2020 13:33

I hate mothers day and valentines day. But the house is full of about 5 vases of flowers all the time. Dh buys them and arranges them.

unmarkedbythat · 16/09/2020 13:35

Very rarely indeed, he knows my concerns about the ethics of the floristry industry.

101namesforme · 16/09/2020 13:37

I'd say 2-3 times a month, but I love flowers and they are bought as a thoughtful gesture if he sees ones I like while he's out shopping. They are always supermarket/shop ones and not a grand display. I am looking at some lovely roses in my favourite colours on my office windowsill right now, they cheer me up and make me smile Smile

He never buys them on anniversaries or valentines (maybe once has in 20 odd years) as we both think they are easy and thoughtless at those 'expected' times.

MaverickDanger · 16/09/2020 13:39

Once in 11 years when a birthday present was going to be late.

He tends to get me food, books or will organise something instead.

LBOCS2 · 16/09/2020 13:40

Probably once a year or so, randomly. I actually have a bunch from him at the moment which he sent me to say thank you for doing all the driving to get DSS (a 500 mile round trip) throughout lockdown and the summer as otherwise we wouldn't have been able to see him - DH doesn't drive. Totally unexpected, and of course I was happy to do the drive, but much appreciated nonetheless.

Knittedfairies · 16/09/2020 13:41

At least once a week.

Topseyt · 16/09/2020 13:49

Never. He used to sometimes years ago, but to be honest, I prefer book vouchers.

Sometimes other people have sent me flowers for a variety of reasons. They are lovely and I do always appreciate the gesture.

JamNutellaOrHoney · 16/09/2020 13:52

Maybe 3 times a year? They’re nice but I like how he’s thoughtful in other ways - I had a hospital appointment I was really nervous about a few weeks ago and when I got there I realised he’d slipped a bottle of water, a banana and my Kindle in my bag.

UnfinishedSymphon · 16/09/2020 13:52

How often do you buy him flowers?

Champagneforeveryone · 16/09/2020 13:54

He's only ever bought me flowers once (in 14 years) but he frequently picks a small posy from the garden / allotment which I love even more.

I adore flowers and we always have fresh flowers in the house, so actually perhaps that's why he doesn't buy them for me Wink

PaperMonster · 16/09/2020 13:54

When they’re reduced to 25p a bunch in Morrisons occasionally!

BigFatLiar · 16/09/2020 13:56

Occasionally, but he usually gets a houseplant if he buys flowers. Often though he gets me chocolates/wine/magazines, just something he thinks I'd like.

AriettyHomily · 16/09/2020 13:58

Never. It would be guilt or hallmark marketing. I'd rather a bottle of wine, chocolates, something random

saturdaymorning · 16/09/2020 14:06

Never, but always brings me tea in the morning even when I've kicked him out of bed for snoring.

AriesTheRam · 16/09/2020 14:22

Once 6.5 years ago the day before I was going in to be induced with our son.Hes not a flowers kind of bloke.

Plussizejumpsuit · 16/09/2020 14:26

Not very often last time he bought me some was when I left my job end of last year. We don't do valentines day. He's more likely to buy a more personal little gift. We have a really good relationship and are very happy after 16 years together so not doing flower loads isn't an issue. He buys great birthday and Christmas presents.

PerfectionistProcrastinator · 16/09/2020 14:38

Usually just occasionally on my birthday or valentines. But a few weeks ago he bought me some when I was in a low mood. Never randomly without reason.

RIBlue · 16/09/2020 14:39

Regularly, just a cheap bunch of whatever’s in season - daffodils, tulips, sunflowers etc.

Prisonbreak · 16/09/2020 14:45

He did once. I was thankful but I explained I find it a waste of money as they die soon after. He agreed and both happy without

rubydoobydoo · 16/09/2020 14:45

He doesn't- but he know I find flowers annoying!
We're cat owners, so it would be a hassle of finding somewhere to put them that the cats won't knock them over or eat them, checking if they're poisonous to cats or not just in case as they'd find a way to eat them anyway...

And then they just die and go manky and you have to chuck them out!

bethany39 · 16/09/2020 14:47

I don't think he ever has but we both have hay fever!

JustSaying101 · 16/09/2020 14:47

Might get the occasional bunch of daffodils for Mother's Day or birthday, etc. Generally, chocolate and wine are more appreciated here!
