What childish things do you still love doing?

Today I spent a very calming at the beach hour making a title out of sand. I used to do this when I was a little kid, always making different animals.

Also adore climbing, although these days it's more ropes and climbing walls rather than trees.

Cartwheels on any open stretch of grass.

Marmite toast and hit chocolate while reading a famous five.

Swimming underwater.

What about you?

Writing my name on steamed up windows and mirrors. DD tuts at me.

Water slides and flumes - I love them, and the scarier the better (although Devil's Drop in Paignton took every scrap of my courage). I couldn't enjoy them as a child because I couldn't swim, and I hated going under water, so I feel I missed out!

Cocking my leg when I trump, wafting the fart smell towards me and then deciding how good the fart it. FWIW, I love a good strong meaty scent 😂😂

Water slides and flumes

Me too! Also love high trees adventures with zip wires and stuff. And the Natural History Museum Grin

I love wearing big funny slippers - I have loads of pairs, and it's a tough decision every morning which ones to put on! Here is my favourite pair: I often say "help, my feet are being eaten!".

It's not just for present-wrapping that my eyes are covered - it always happens on my birthday itself as well. DH will decorate the room, make my cake, feed me mixture - while it's all happening in front of me, I'm blindfolded and I can't see a thing! Sad But I'm always squealing and wide-eyed at the big reveal. Smile I look forward to it every year!

Feeding ducks or any animal to be honest. Going through puddles, even better as an adult when you can drive through them! Wink

@ScribblyGum

I’m quite partial to a good poo joke.
Why did the baker's hands smell?

Because he kneaded a pooBlush

Completely random and a bit odd but I still love peeling glue from my hands Blush

Drinking slush puppies, except they have taken the sugar out of most slushy drinks now and replaced it with sweeteners so I make my own.

Holding my breath and trying to touch the bottom of the deep end of the swimming pool.

Sticking my legs out and going ‘wheeeee!’ when going downhill on a bike.

Doing a minute’s ‘kid running’ at the end of my 5k - complete with flapping arms and a big grin. I imagine the ice-cream van’s waiting.

Playing in the sea on holiday - wave jumping, etc.

Reading old annuals.

Watching Spongebob Squarepants and The Simpsons.

Reading old kid’s books like Tom’s Midnight Garden and Swallows and Amazons.

Sticking two fingers up and pulling my tongue out behind people’s backs when they’ve pissed me off. Very cathartic.

Playing Swingball.

When I read to my son, I change the words to include the word "poo" (Maisy Makes Poo, for example)

All the park stuff - slides, swings, climbing frames

Laughing at farts

I squeak when excited

Getting my wellies on to go splashing in puddles. Luckily my 7&9yos still enjoy this simple pleasure.

Hangingover · 12/09/2020 10:32

These are really cheering me up Grin

I indulged my love of water slides and flumes only yesterday - went to a new water park I hadn't been to before (The Wave in Coventry), which has one of those where you stand on a trapdoor before going down a very steep slide. Wheeeeeeeee!

I like wearing plimsolls, I feel like I'm at primary school when I do.
