What childish things do you still love doing?

Today I spent a very calming at the beach hour making a title out of sand. I used to do this when I was a little kid, always making different animals.

Also adore climbing, although these days it's more ropes and climbing walls rather than trees.

Cartwheels on any open stretch of grass.

Marmite toast and hit chocolate while reading a famous five.

Swimming underwater.

What about you?

My partner’s eyes roll every time.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 10/09/2020 17:28

I can picture this perfectly, @mazylou.

I make everyone jump if I can DS hates it but gets me occasionally too. Crack up and say doodoo if someone says it in a sentence. I got a swing in the garden as I wanted one but DS insists it’s his. I’m basically the height of a child so still behave like one.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 10/09/2020 18:18

I do ballet moves in the kitchen. I like to think the neighbours are stunned by the elegance of my ports de bras and grands battements.

letsgomaths · 10/09/2020 18:27

I sometimes wear shoes like these, on my bare feet in summer, so now you know how to spot me!

DH and I play blind man's buff on country walks. I have excellent directional hearing and can catch him easily; I'm also as stealthy as a cat, so it's harder for him to find me!

We did a sort out of dd's room and found the crate of Lego.

So yesterday we sat and played with Lego Friends for hours. She is 18 and I am 50 Smile

It was lovely. We have decided she shouldn't sell it which was plan A.

PeskyRooks · 10/09/2020 18:40

Reading my St. Clares books.
Eating butterscotch Angel delight.
Saying hello out loud everytime I see an animal.."hello horse"..."hello dog" and saying "horses!" if we pass them in the car.
I play the recorder nearly every day. I can do Lord of the Dance straight out off the top of my head!

Toddlerteaplease · 10/09/2020 18:45

@nettytree oh God, I totally do that!

Toddlerteaplease · 10/09/2020 18:47

@letsgomaths nothing wrong with those shoes, I've got two pairs!

chunkyrun · 10/09/2020 18:50

Popping bubble wrap
Watching the moomins
Kicking piles of leaves

Crystal87 · 10/09/2020 19:16

Colouring in, sandcastles, dolls.

Crystal87 · 10/09/2020 19:16

And collecting conkers

StringyPotatoes · 10/09/2020 19:26

DH and I both have Nerf guns that my mum gave us for Christmas. We live in a one bedroom flat but still chase each other round.

I have been known to shoot him in the shower. He has fired that at me while I am on the loo in retaliation.

MsSquiz · 10/09/2020 19:34

Sliding on the kitchen tiles (or anywhere with a tiled or wooden floor) in my socks!

Eating Nutella out of the jar

Lying upside down on my bed, feet up on the head board, listening to audiobooks

Twospaniels · 10/09/2020 19:41

I was a pony mad child and still have lots of books, and occasionally I read one of them, takes me back to being about 11 years old!
Jackie Won A Pony
Jill’s Gymkhana, etc
Still love those stories.

Claricestarling1 · 10/09/2020 19:42

Making myself a bubble bikini in a bubble bath

letsgomaths · 10/09/2020 19:44

@Toddlerteaplease Those shoes have been derided as "childish" on MN before, but I love 'em precisely for that. Good old Red or Dead.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/09/2020 19:46

Yes. They remind me of some I had very similar as a child.

TheOnceAndFutureQueen · 10/09/2020 19:47

I go up the stairs on all fours regularly and like to do T-rex arms bouncily on the way down - DH likes to pretend he doesn't find it funny 😂

beingajen · 10/09/2020 19:50

I bought my childhood home mainly so I could own my lifetimes climbing tree. I'm 37! The view up there is still good, but I've only been up once this year having had a baby in Feb. One day me and my son will climb together.

Minimumstandard · 10/09/2020 19:57

Ice cream roll.
Flying foxes.

GameSetMatch · 10/09/2020 20:03

Play doh, I love getting it out for the children so I can play too, painting as well, I’m really rubbish at it but enjoy painting with the kids poster paints.

I’ve also been known to have a ‘matey’ bubbly bath!

InTheCludgie · 10/09/2020 20:06

Throwing an exaggerated pose, arse sticking out, before farting. If the fart turns out to be a silent one I feel disappointed

HolyForkinShirt · 10/09/2020 20:08

Licking the bowl after making cakes

IHateCoronavirus · 10/09/2020 20:09

I went on a seesaw recently with a friend (we are both in our 40s) we laughed so much I nearly did a wee!
