What childish things do you still love doing?

Today I spent a very calming at the beach hour making a title out of sand. I used to do this when I was a little kid, always making different animals.

Also adore climbing, although these days it's more ropes and climbing walls rather than trees.

Cartwheels on any open stretch of grass.

Marmite toast and hit chocolate while reading a famous five.

Swimming underwater.

What about you?

@nettytree

I still go up my parents stairs on all fours. Never do it at my house tho.
Oh dear that's brilliant 😂
wanderings · 10/09/2020 15:33

Building Lego, and another vote for flying a kite. Splashing in puddles. I love Easter egg hunts too.

I am always childishly excited about opening presents, and one of my favourite things of all is being there while DH wraps my presents. I'm blindfolded so I can't cheat and see what I'm going to get, but I love hearing him do it!

OneMoreForExtra · 10/09/2020 15:38

Having a wee outside makes me positively gleeful

CoconutLassi · 10/09/2020 16:00

Feeding ducks :)

AriesTheRam · 10/09/2020 16:04

On the way to pick ds up from school today I bought a bag of sweets for myself (and ate them all)

LuckyAmy1986 · 10/09/2020 16:07

@wanderings haha I love that about your presents!

@AriesTheRam which sweets? (I’m on a diet, indulge me!!)

NC4Now · 10/09/2020 16:08

Walking down the street with my ponytail swinging

ForeverBubblegum · 10/09/2020 16:14

Sneaking biscuits, even though I buy the biscuits and can have as many as I I please, I still get a thrill from getting one when no one's looking.

BogRollBOGOF · 10/09/2020 16:23

Taking the little, high winding path rather than the main one.
Talking to myself via my cuddly toys. So much better than just talking to yourself.
Leaping and dancing around the kitchen when a great song comes on.
Playing on adventure trails.

Currently wearing pink unicorn leggings Grin

alangarneristerrifying · 10/09/2020 16:24

I still sleep with a teddy, still go up the stairs on all fours on occasion, still like macaroni cheese (the old fashioned kind with white sauce and cheddar) as comfort food. I also like to skip and sing when I'm happy. I'm basically still a child!

BaronessBomburst · 10/09/2020 16:27

Swings! And the zip wire, which I still call the Death Slide.
Always go on the traditional merry-go-round at the fair.
Lego, jigsaws, bags of sweets, especially jelly babies.

ScribblyGum · 10/09/2020 16:28

I’m quite partial to a good poo joke.

Ishihtzuknot · 10/09/2020 16:29

Playing computer games I played as a child
Character pyjamas
Collecting conkers
Watching Disney films
Drawing with chalk on the driveway
Waving at the boats on the river with no shame Grin

BusySittingDown · 10/09/2020 16:32

I'm very jealous of your ability to do cartwheels, OP! I've never been able to do one Sad. Although I love doing handstands underwater in the swimming pool (can't do them on dry land - again Sad)

Sunsetdawn · 10/09/2020 16:35

I love colouring!

Cam2020 · 10/09/2020 16:42

Reading my favourite books from childhood, even if it makes me realise they were pretty terrible now I'm an adult!
Watching Disney films with my daughter, looking up old toys on Google images, playing in the sea.

Aerielview · 10/09/2020 16:57

Eat Farleys rusks. Lovely with a glass of cold milk

BearSoFair · 10/09/2020 16:59

Blowing and popping bubbles. I was gutted when DC got too big. But SIL has a toddler now so the game is back on Grin

Kicking through crunchy leaves
Eating the edges of a jaffa cake, then the cake at the bottom, then trying to get the chocolate off and saving the jelly for last!

JaffaJaffJaffpussycatpuss · 10/09/2020 17:02

@TinkersRucksack

Giggling at farts and jokes about bottoms
Me too. My toilet humour is active.
CarrieMoonbeams · 10/09/2020 17:06

DH and I sprint out to the ice cream van on a Friday night and buy a 99 each. If we can get in the queue before the kids next door we feel really triumphant!

The van comes at about 6.30, and we're clock watching from about 4pm onwards. Grin

Unwrapping the chopsticks and putting them under my upper lip so as to pretend to be a walrus. Every time.

Ad3laid3 · 10/09/2020 17:19

Standing on the back of a supermarket trolley and scooting it down an empty aisle.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 10/09/2020 17:20

Kicking through crunchy leaves
Going upstairs on all fours
Nibbling all the chocolate off an orange Club biscuit or Jaffa cake.
If I’m holding two identical things, one in each hand, I have to hold them to my chest and make robot boobies.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 10/09/2020 17:24

Unwrapping the chopsticks and putting them under my upper lip so as to pretend to be a walrus. Every time.

@mazylou I need to see this.

ouch321 · 10/09/2020 17:24

I skip (not with a rope, as an alternative to walking) when I am certain no one else is around.
