Control your fucking dogs

I’m so angry. Yet again someone can’t control their dog and my dc is even more afraid due to some massive dog leaping up at their face and mouthing at them (very young, but big dog).

If they have no recall and keep jumping up at people (and are at the mouthing people stage still) don’t fucking let them be able to get out of control.

Dog ran away from owners, out of the garden and my child ran towards the road. I’m so 😡. Why did I come away feeling like my son was to blame for running and shouting (yes it excites the dog, no I can’t stop him doing it when he’s scared and the dog is chasing him). Yes the dog was playing. No, it makes no difference to my child when the dog can jump higher than he is tall.

Well maybe they meant "lead". Not rocket science is it? Where I live in the UK you have to "leash" your dog in certain places 🤷🏽‍♀️

nc600 · 25/08/2020 23:35

Sorry, that was to @SoupDragon who thinks this is an American problem

Shizzlestix · 25/08/2020 23:36

@NolmNotEntertained
Just a lot of clueless, lazy, inconsiderate dog owners unfortunately who give us all a bad name.

Lord, yes, the guy who only wanted to tell me how many breeds were in his totally untrained in yer face dog while I was desperately trying to take my fear aggressive dog away, I would happily have smacked him!

Mine is scared of other dogs so I protect him by keeping away. I don’t need a bouncy untrained youngster getting in his face.

RLOU30 · 25/08/2020 23:40

Literally every day children want to play with my dog. He isn’t interested he just wants his ball and yet kids are running after him parents turning a blind eye just because he looks like he could do no harm. Take some responsibility !
My dog doesn’t even pay my own toddler much attention let alone everyone elses!
Also a lot of dog walkers are fab! Up early picking up rubbish from littered parks around my way!

yolio · 25/08/2020 23:42

Anyway most of us seem to be in agreement that lunging dogs are the pits, and owners are worse.

And dog shit is everywhere, and I really hate that. Totally.

As for pubs and places that allow dogs, off the menu for me anyway.

Sick of it now. There are probably more dogs in Britain than there are people now, and all entitled owners too who will rise up and tell you that their pooch is gorgeous and loves everyone.

Won't work for me anymore, they can feck right off.

Goodnightelizabethwalton · 25/08/2020 23:44

I understand completely and I am on your side. Even though I am a dog owner I can not stand badly behaved dogs or their dumb owners. My last dog was a bit erratic with her overexcitable nature sometimes and because of this always put her on a lead when anyone around. She never did anything bad because I didn’t let it happen in the first place and I bothered to train her to behave in public but I would be so apologetic if I had a badly behaved dog who ever did anything like what happened to you and offer to pay for dry cleaning and tell the dog off in front of a traumatised child so they would not think all dogs were like that. Unfortunately there are a lot of horrible dog owners which needs addressing.

RLOU30 · 25/08/2020 23:47

There probably isn’t.

Willow2017 · 25/08/2020 23:50

@Anordinarymum

OP I would have more sympathy for you if you stopped swearing.
Wtf has swearing got to do with anything? If it was ny kid and I had had some of the replies on here i would be swearing too!
yolio · 25/08/2020 23:51

There probably isn’t.

I'd say it's getting quite close though!
Heffalooomia · 25/08/2020 23:53

What should the concerned and responsible citizen do?
How can we get the powers that be to do something?

SoupDragon · 25/08/2020 23:53

Please don't make stuff up.

yolio · 25/08/2020 23:54

Oh and another thing before I try to sleep again.

Why do owners not hear their bloody barking dogs all night long and often during the day. Just wondered why neighbours are always demented by this, but the owners never seem to be the tiniest bit bothered.

I don't know. The flat below me's two were barking from two til after five in the morning the other week.

It really isn't.

It seems that way to me anyway. Cannot go for a walk without someone walking a dog. Where are the children?

Dogs are a menace to most people trying to just have a walk, a day out or whatever. It really is a dog owner's paradise now.

The shit gets me every time. Awful stuff and it is everywhere now.

But I do not like dogs running up to me. I have nothing to do with them, they are not mine, they are yours. Control them. Thank you.

Willow2017 · 25/08/2020 23:59

Most parks have places for you to sit and eat your sandwiches out of the reach of dogs. If you choose to picnic where people go to exercise their dogs and the dog eats your sarnies, then use your brains and don't sit on the grass.

  1. No they don't.
  2. Why the hell should something as normal as a picnic on the grass be spoiled by some slobbering dog?
So you think people have to change thier behaviour to accommodate dogs and thier useless owners? You are having a laugh. Maybe useless owners should grow the hell up and train thier dogs on how to behave in public and around people and not be a bloody nusciance?
yolio · 26/08/2020 00:00

Ohnonononononono

I cannot understand it myself either. Thanks.

SquirtleSquad · 26/08/2020 00:01

There were estimated to be 9million dogs in the UK in 2018 and 66.27million people.. I don't think we are quite ready to start worrying about a canine overlord taking over the throne just yet Hmm

username108 · 26/08/2020 00:01

Most dog owners are fucking idiots. But why on Earth is your 11 year old son running into the road? I thought you were going to say your son was a toddler. You really need to toughen him up a bit- he sounds like a wet lettuce.

SoupDragon · 26/08/2020 00:02

Most dog owners are fucking idiots

No, some dog owners are fucking idiots. Most are not.

SquirtleSquad · 26/08/2020 00:04

@username108 how ridiculous of you spewing that sort of nonsense.
A poster up thread said how her adult sister literally abandoned a pram and young child out of absolute fear over a wasp.
When you are completely taken over by fear and petrified and in shock you don't think logically.

BikeTyson · 26/08/2020 00:05

Dogs - or more precisely, their feckless owners - are ruining so many nice outdoor places at the moment. It’s definitely getting worse. Piss and shit everywhere and dangerous loose dogs...just fuck off. And even when somewhere is supposed to be off limits, e.g. some beaches, they disregard it.

yolio · 26/08/2020 00:06

Estimated. ok.

Jesus 9 million dogs in 2018 means we are doomed with shit forever more. And it will only rise believe me.

Hate the shit stuff on the paths and trails. Sick of it totally, it is everywhere now, or else up in trees in bags.

No more fibre based food for dogs, constipate the lot of them. LOL.

SoupDragon · 26/08/2020 00:07

Estimated. ok

Still clearly not 67 million.

SquirtleSquad · 26/08/2020 00:08

Estimated yes.. but I doubt they aren't 60 odd million off Hmm

Anyway.. not really helpful to the OP.
