I LOVE a why are you awake thread....because I'm nosey!i will start

I'm awake because my asshole neighbours teens are having another party(regular occurrence) and it's just shouting and screaming, music and fighting in the street 😭

One DD who is sleepy and now very agitated!

I am still awake as my 18yr old has been at the pub and I can’t sleep until he is home.he has just wandered through the door so it’s off to bed for me.

user32723 · 16/08/2020 01:40

I'm just always awake until around 2. Always been the same. Kids get up between 8 and 9 usually so not too bad.

Floralnomad · 16/08/2020 01:42

I’m generally awake at this time , years of working pt nights has completely messed up my clock even though I’ve not actually worked for over 5 yrs . Currently watching tv but I’m just about to put the dog in his bedroom and turn in myself .

goodwinter · 16/08/2020 01:43

Night owl here too! Makes my life hell during the week though 😬 Partner just got back from work. Will go to bed soonish.

AgeLikeWine · 16/08/2020 01:43

Because I have always been an owl, and it’s perfectly natural and normal for me to be awake at 01:40. To me, this isn’t late. I will probably go to bed around 03:00.

It’s the rest of the world that’s out of step, not me Grin.

RefuseTheLies · 16/08/2020 01:44

Had a busy day and fell asleep at 9pm. Husband woke me coming to bed at midnight and now I’m wide awake. I had a frozen embryo put back earlier in the week so my mind is doing overtime wondering if it’s going to result in a pregnancy!

EnglishRain · 16/08/2020 01:47

Also breastfeeding my four week old. We cosleep but it's hard not to stare at her all night!

Thirty2andBlue · 16/08/2020 01:48

I've had a few glasses of wine and now my tinnitus is unbearable and keeping me awake. I'm also mildly anxious but not sure what about. I'm an early bird normally so this is unusual for me! DD usually wakes between 4 and 6 so counting down now... Sad

Smileandtheworldsmileswithyou · 16/08/2020 01:50

I’m in Malaysia so 7 hours ahead

Shosha1 · 16/08/2020 01:50

Because DDog has an ear infection and woke me scratching at her ear and shaking her head. Just had to chase her around the house and try and get some more drops in by myself as DH is in nights and it usually takes to of us to hold her and get them in.

Smileandtheworldsmileswithyou · 16/08/2020 01:51

But I was actually up until 1am here as I went out and when I came home took ages to wind down so was on mumsnet for ages!

POP7777777 · 16/08/2020 01:52

My DD and DNiece (teens) are having a sleepover and I'm seething because of the non-stop giggling but too tired to go in again.

Ingles2 · 16/08/2020 01:53

because I had a glass or two of white wine earlier and now I'm awake with the most awful thumping headache... it's been a while since I had white wine, and now I remember why, it just doesn't agree with me anymore [sob]

Kahlua4me · 16/08/2020 01:55

I am awake because my feet are really sore.

I went for a long walk this afternoon and wore my walking shoes instead of my usual converse as am frequently told they are better for my feet. Not so because my feet hurt now and are normally fine!

Kahlua4me · 16/08/2020 01:56

@Ingles2

That would normally be the reason I am awake in the night!
colouringindoors · 16/08/2020 02:13

Can't fall asleep 😪

sidsidsid · 16/08/2020 02:23

Feeding my 6 week old. He's wide awake and has decided it's party time. Browsing to keep me awake!

LocksMyth · 16/08/2020 02:24

Because 2am is the start of my lunchbreak ( spag bol 😊).

Needinghelp24 · 16/08/2020 02:26

Cause 2 hours ago I caught my child on a video thing with an anon stranger and I'm sick to my stomach about what I read and saw

SimonJT · 16/08/2020 02:29

@Frownette

Oh yikes *@colouringindoors* is it starting to dissipate? Does it hurt? I always feel exhausted after that.

I'm up fending off nicotine withdrawal. Feels very trainspotting, sweats (though that might be the weather), bad nightmares (though that might be just a nightmare), lack of focus (though that might be standard).

If the worst comes to the worst there's a 24 hour garage nearby.

Me too on the withdrawal, how many days are you on? I’m on day eleven.
Bluewavescrashing · 16/08/2020 02:29

I woke up to the sound of a cartoon playing on YouTube on the PC downstairs. No idea how it started itself.

I had a migraine yesterday so slept all evening. It's better now but I'm wide awake wackaday.

notangelinajolie · 16/08/2020 02:31

Because I have only just gone to bed and I'm having a quick catch up on mumsnet before lights out.
Besides it's Sunday tomorrow and I'm not planning on getting up before lunch time.

Melabells · 16/08/2020 02:36

Up feeding my 4 month old DD. She had a late night and is over tired so is being very difficult to put down properly in her cot. Lucky DH fast asleep beside me. I'm falling asleep sitting up 😴hopefully I will be back in bed soon 🤞

PheasantPlucker9 · 16/08/2020 02:37

I've been watching Casa de Papel season 3 and I couldn't stop! I've been trying to go to bed for the last 3 hours, finally managing now :)

tatasa · 16/08/2020 02:41

Had an early night, as up relatively early tomorrow. 3 teens who despite my best efforts are incapable of closing doors gently, they must be slammed all night long!! Sometimes I get revenge by doing same to them at 7am. They still don't learn. Now of course wide awake.
